You will own projects from technical design through production, make thoughtful trade-offs, and contribute to reliable, intuitive products.\nYou will report into Amogh Palnitkar, Engineering Manager. This role is ideal for an engineer who combines strong Android expertise with product judgment, takes ownership of complex problems, and builds trusted partnerships across engineering and product teams.\nWhat You’ll Do\nOwn end-to-end development of Android features from technical design through launch and ongoing improvements.\nTranslate product requirements into maintainable Android architecture and intuitive user experiences.\nBuild firmware features for Motive’s next-generation hardware, working across teams to deliver reliable device experiences.\nCollaborate with product, design, backend, QA, and support teams to deliver cohesive customer experiences.\nInvestigate complex bugs and performance issues, identify root causes, and drive durable fixes.\nImprove engineering quality through code reviews, automated testing, documentation, and development practices.\nWhat We’re Looking For\n5+ years of software engineering experience, including significant Android application development.\nStrong proficiency in Kotlin and Java with a deep understanding of Android SDKs, lifecycle management, and persistence.\nExperience designing and maintaining modular Android applications using modern architecture patterns such as MVVM.\nExperience with automated testing, debugging, performance optimization, and CI/CD practices.\nAbility to independently drive complex projects, evaluate technical trade-offs, and communicate decisions clearly across teams.\nCreating a diverse and inclusive workplace is one of Motive's core values.
