The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, security, scalability, and performance of critical systems while managing technical teams, vendors, and operational processes.\nMain Responsibilities\nLead the operation, maintenance, security, and continuous optimization of data center infrastructure, enterprise applications, and IT services to ensure high availability, reliability, scalability, and performance.\nManage and maintain all hardware and software systems, including servers, storage, virtualization platforms, and related peripherals, ensuring timely upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.\nAdminister and support network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, connectivity services, and interconnection solutions.\nOversee OpenStack and OpenShift environments, ensuring infrastructure stability, capacity planning, security compliance, and operational excellence across hosted platforms and services.\nDevelop, implement, and enforce IT governance, security policies, disaster recovery strategies, backup solutions, and operational procedures to safeguard systems, data integrity, and business continuity.\nLead the infrastructure teams, providing technical guidance, performance management, resource planning, and support for strategic initiatives and service delivery objectives.\nLead the performance evaluations for team including goals setting performance ratings, individual performance plan and year end reviews\nMonitor infrastructure, applications, and network performance through proactive alerting, reporting, and capacity management processes, identifying risks and resolving issues before they impact business operations.\nManage vendor relationships, contracts, software licensing, asset inventory, procurement activities, and service-level agreements to ensure cost-effective and reliable technology services.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing operational processes, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing executive status reports, and implementing efficiencies that enhance data center operations, managed services deployments, and future migration projects.\nResearch emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, providing recommendations and strategic direction to improve infrastructure performance, security, automation, and operational resilience.\nKey Skills & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. (preferred)\n5+ or more years of experience in data center maintenance in technical role\n5+ years of proven mastery and experience in hands-on IT role.\nOver 5 years of experience managing direct reports in a mid-level leadership role, overseeing performance reviews, employee development goal setting, appraisals, and the effective resolution of team escalations.\nProven experience as an IT Systems Administrator with expertise in OpenStack and OpenShift, VPN, AWS, Azure and Office 365.\nStrong knowledge of VMWare\nStrong knowledge of Windows, MacOS and Linux operations systems, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms.\nExperience with networking, including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.\nKnowledge of cybersecurity practices and data backup and recovery.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex IT issues.\nDevOps, orchestration, automation, or digitalization a strong plus.\nStrong communication skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities.\nundefined\nPersonal Attributes:\nSelf sufficient, takes initiative.\nFinds solutions to roadblocks and navigates ambiguity with confidence.\nExperience in broadband, telecommunications or infrastructure-as-a-service companies.\nStrong communicator that keeps everyone informed, manages expectations and escalates smartly.\nLocation: Ontario, Remote\n$110-130K\nMOTIVE gives equal opportunity in employment regardless of gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, race, nationality, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, or any other factor.\nBy answering to this job post, you consent the use of your data by MOTIVE, for as long as necessary.
