We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Electrical Engineer who enjoys being part of a tight-knit multidisciplinary team!\n,\nQualifications\nThe ideal candidate will exhibit most of the following:\nSix plus years of professional engineering experience\nDirect technical involvement on multiple prior electro-mechanical projects with embedded electronics, resulting ia n deep understanding of motion/control systems theory and physics\nExceptional communication skills; able to present results and recommendations to internal and external customers\nStrong ability to mentor less experienced colleagues\nDesired work split: ~80% hands-on engineering and ~20% mentoring/similar\nDesign experience with motors, motor controllers, power supplies, inverters/converters, and/or power electronics\nPrior professional experience with embedded electronics design containing microcontrollers, DSPs, programmable logic devices (FPGA, CPLD), memory, high-speed signaling, MEMS sensors, etc\nStrong ability to handle concurrent fast-paced projects with minimal direction\nDevelopment and editing of top-level system architectures\nExperience with a plethora of different sensor types and technologies\nProgramming experience, especially with embedded C, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and/or Matlab Simulink Coder (formerly Real-Time Workshop)\nFamiliarity with communication protocols like Controller Area Network (CAN), USB, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc\nElectrical test and debug with industry standard tools (oscilloscope, in-circuit debug, digital multimeter, etc)\nCustom PCB design experience from schematic entry and board layout through fabrication, assembly, and test\nFamiliarity and experience with high-performance vehicles (electric vehicles (EV), hybrid electric, race vehicles, Solar Car, Formula SAE, etc), including the design process and components\nExperience in design and fabrication for automotive environments (extreme temperature, shock, vibration, etc)\nGenerate technical drawings of systems, components, and interfaces\nExperience with various battery chemistries and related battery management systems\nExperience with R&D, Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR), venture capital (VC), or similarly funded projects and work effort\nBenefits\nWe’re convinced that the team and the projects are hands-down the best part of working at Motivo.
