We work on cool, fast paced design projects and are responsible for the design, engineering, and build in-house. We also get to test the designs, which is a lot of fun since our projects include complete vehicle engineering and builds, computer vision & machine learning with applications in AgTech and Industrial Automation, aerospace mechanical and control systems, connected car and vehicle telematics, and large battery systems. We complete projects in weeks or months, not years, so we get to work on a lot of fun projects in a typical year. We are constantly challenging ourselves by working on diverse projects and building awesome products for our clients that range from startups to Fortune 500 firms.\nQualifications\nCapabilities and Skills\nDevelopment of complex systems with interaction across multiple engineering disciplines\nAdvanced knowledge/skills in CAD modeling using a major software package (e.g., SolidWorks, ProE, UG-NX, or CATIA V5)\nReading and interpreting engineering specifications\nDevelopment and/or editing top level system architecture\nStructural design, analysis, and optimization\nGenerate detailed design and technical drawings of systems, components, and interfaces\nEngineering support of component manufacturing and build activities\nPresentation of results and recommendations to internal team and external customers\nExcellent verbal and written communications skills\nWork collaboratively across multiple engineering disciplines\nExperience in rapid prototyping of electro-mechanical systems from concepts to functional prototypes is a plus\nTechnical mentorship for new engineers\nRequired Attributes\nBS in engineering required, MS or higher preferred\nMinimum 5 years of direct engineering experience within the automotive industry and/or engineering services\nFormula SAE Team Lead experience is preferred\nMust be a generalist with involvement in systems level design and experience working in a cross-functional engineering team\nAbility to multi-task and demonstrate attention to quality, timing, awareness of budget constraints, and other program management considerations\nAbility to plan, manage and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts\nPast experience in a startup/small business environment\nStrong ability to connect and communicate with clients and project teams\n“Get it done” Attitude\nAbility to travel as required (less than 10%)\nBenefits\nWe’re convinced that the team and the projects are hands-down the best part of working at Motivo.
