This role is structured for early- to mid-career candidates seeking to bridge technical radio frequency capabilities with Special Operations Command customer requirements and emerging trends.\nReporting to the Director of Applications Engineering, you will work alongside Engineering and Business Development teams to support USSOCOM acquisition stakeholders and Component Commands. In this position, you will assist in demonstrating the technical capabilities, interoperability, low-signature performance, and field-readiness of our StreamCaster MANET radio portfolio across multi-domain, tactical edge, and uncrewed environments. This role requires up to 50% travel to customer sites, research laboratories, and strategic field-testing environments, with a 100% remote working option depending on location.\nThe following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.\nROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nAssist in analyzing USSOCOM capability gaps, SOF-peculiar communications requirements, and Hyper-Enabled Operator/tactical edge network design goals, mapping operational needs to tactical radio solutions.\nSupport technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.\nCollaborate with the Applications Engineering team to leverage continuous testing and competitive benchmarking data, helping verify that proposed solution architectures are technically sound.\nMaintain close alignment with the Business Development team to support their ongoing technical needs and align work with established strategic priorities.\nAssist in building and presenting technical demonstrations tailored to low-signature, resilient, and tactical edge operational needs of USSOCOM and its component commands (USASOC, NAVSPECWARCOM, AFSOC, MARSOC).\nContribute technical input and review support for RFI/RFP proposal responses.\nPerform market research to identify potential integrations with industry partners and test end-to-end network architectures.\nAssist Business Development in engaging with technical stakeholders across USSOCOM PEO-SOF Digital Applications / PEO-C4, SOF AT&L, SOFWERX, and Component Command Science & Technology (S&T) leads.\nServe as an internal voice for the SOF Operator by gathering field feedback, signature management requirements, and operational needs, helping translate them into product roadmap inputs, and tracking engineering progress against operational needs.\nPerform other related duties of which the above are representative.\nTravel Requirement - 50%; frequent travel to customer sites, research laboratories, and strategic field-testing environments.\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.\nExposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.\nBasic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.\nSecurity Clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.\nMust be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.\n All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.\nPREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES\nBasic understanding of USSOCOM procurement pathways (SOF AT&L, PEO-C4, SOFWERX OTAs) and operational needs across USASOC, NAVSPECWARCOM, AFSOC, and MARSOC.\nFamiliarity with Low Probability of Intercept / Low Probability of Detection (LPI/LPD), anti-jamming tactics, or signature management in contested/spectrum-denied environments.\nPractical experience with TCP/IP networking, Linux environments, or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++) for test automation.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts effectively.\nAbility to work effectively in a remote team setting.\nWORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nConferences, technical symposiums, and trade shows.\nOutdoor environment for large-scale field trials and tactical demonstrations.\nOccasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens while performing tests or demonstrations in rugged field environments.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:Lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of complex tactical network demonstrations and testing.\n\nCOMPENSATION: $100,000 - $140,000 / annually\nConsistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity.
