Motorola Solutions is an American company created in 2011 when Motorola split in two, taking the enterprise and public safety communications business while the handset operation became Motorola Mobility. It is the dominant supplier of land mobile radio systems to police, fire and emergency services worldwide, a business protected by long replacement cycles and deep integration with dispatch operations. Around that core the company has assembled video security and access control through the Avigilon and Pelco acquisitions, command centre software for emergency call handling and records, and increasingly AI-assisted analytics across the whole safety and security portfolio.

At Motorola Solutions, we believe that everything starts with our people. We’re a global close-knit community, united by the relentless pursuit to help keep people safer everywhere. We build and connect technologies to help protect people, property and places. Our solutions foster the collaboration that’s critical for safer communities, safer schools, safer hospitals, safer businesses, and ultimately, safer nations. Department Overview

CRFS, a global leader in Radio Frequency (RF) technology, was founded in 2007 to innovate in spectrum monitoring and geolocation. The company focuses on manufacturing and designing advanced hardware and software solutions to detect, monitor, and analyze RF signals in complex environments. This role is ideal for an established engineer looking to deepen their technical experience within a collaborative team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Solve general technical problems by applying prior experience and analysis of system requirements.
  • Recommend local adjustments or enhancements to software systems, tools, and development processes.
  • Implement test automation, including unit, regression, and performance tests, to ensure high software quality.
  • Participate in peer code and AI reviews, applying quality standards and providing construct feedback.
  • Communicate clear technical information to departmental team members to reach agreement on tasks and implementation details.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals or support staff as needed.

Basic Requirements

Experience and Qualifications Required

  • University degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of prior relevant software development experience.
  • Practical knowledge and experience programming in Rust within a Linux or embedded environment.
  • Solid modern C++17 (ISO/IEC 14882:2017) programming skills on Linux.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on moderately complex assignments under general supervision.
  • Good problem-solving ability with strong attention to software detail.
  • Clear communication skills with experience explaining technical facts and practices to internal team members.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience using AI development tools to accelerate workflow while maintaining code quality.
  • Basic understanding or background in signal processing principles.

Desirable

  • Experience guiding or assisting junior engineers and entry-level staff.
