Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.\nDepartment Overview\nR&D team that specializes in the development of world-class digital two-way subscriber radios for consumer or business market.Job Description\nResponsible for the design and development of robust, mission-critical communications devices for commercial, government, and industrial markets as part of a core engineering team.\n\nPrepare concept designs of mechanical sub-systems that meet customer expectations, reliability/robustness requirements, manufacturing processes, and safety guidelines.\n\nWork with the engineering team to generate the overall design concept for the mechanical sub-system architecture and perform detailed mechanical design (DFM) for components, including plastic injection molding, metal stamping, casting, rubber/elastomers, rigid and flexible PCBs, and evaluation of existing standard parts.\n\nConduct feasibility studies and prototyping to validate initial ideas and execute Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).\n\nPerform Tolerance Analysis and define tolerances, understanding their effect on design and manufacturing (utilizing a Six Sigma (6σ) design methodology).\n\nGenerate accurate 3D models and 2D drawings per mechanical drafting standards and release mechanical prints.\n\nSet up and maintain the Bill of Materials (BOM).\n\nVerify designs using CAE tools and functional testing, perform mechanical verification tests per product specifications, and compile detailed test reports.\n\nConduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) by conducting experiments using statistical tools and techniques to confirm root cause of failure. Present data using statistical methodologies.\n\nSupport mold trials, prototype builds, and testing.\n\nCompile information required for user manuals and instruction sheets.\n\nBasic Requirements\nAt least a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.\n\nSelf-motivated, assertive, results driven, and consistently delivering strong outcomes within deadlines.\n\nMinimum of three (3) years of working experience in the related field.\n\nDemonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering design from concept development through production release, with a strong focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and a solid knowledge of material properties.
