Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.\nDepartment Overview\nSoftware EngineeringJob Description\nWe are seeking a Software Engineer to join our core engineering team to design and develop a high-throughput, mission-critical active-active microservice framework responsible for dynamically routing and balancing traffic across multi-site deployments based on real-time health, capacity, and geolocation metrics.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop the core Load Distribution engine using Finite State Machines (FSM) to\nmanage dynamic homing, execute Weighted Average Score (WAS) algorithms,\nand implement hysteresis.\nArchitect high-throughput API and messaging layers using gRPC for metrics\ningestion and RabbitMQ (RMQ) for event-driven communication.\nImplement distributed leader election and consensus mechanisms utilizing\nConsul Raft and LockAuthority across active-active deployments.\nEnsure system scalability to handle 3,000+ assignments per second while\nintegrating Apache Ignite/GridGain for stateless caching and data recovery.\nBasic Requirements\nRequired Skills & Experience:\nDeep hands-on experience in Golang (preferred) and proficiency in Java or C,\nC++.\nStrong computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.\nDeep understanding of distributed systems, multi-threading, concurrency control, and Finite State Machines (FSM).\nHands-on expertise with networking and messaging protocols including gRPC,\nProtobuf v3, and RabbitMQ.\nStrong background with distributed databases like Apache Ignite and GridGain,\nand consensus tools like Consul Raft and LockAuthority.\nPractical knowledge of persistence and caching solutions such as PostgreSQL,\nRedis, and ElasticSearch.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation\nand explaining complex ideas.\nIndustry Experience - 2 to 4 years.\nPreferred Qualifications\nProven ability to design active-active multi-site architectures handling network\npartitions, majority/minority quorums, and site-isolation scenarios.\nExperience with large-volume transaction systems, data migration workflows,\nand end-to-end observability frameworks like OpenTelemetry and Kibana.\nFamiliarity with enterprise security tooling such as Vault and mTLS.\nBackground in automated deployments using Docker and CI/CD pipelines.\nTravel Requirements\nNoneRelocation Provided\nNonePosition Type\nExperiencedReferral Payment Plan\nNoEEO Statement\nMotorola Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
