I’m looking for an Android\nEngineer to join our Mobile Engineering group and help us build a best-in-class experience\nfor our Sellers.\nThis is a great opportunity to join a talented and supportive team, working alongside\nengineers, product managers and designers to fundamentally change the way people sell\ntheir car. You’ll contribute to meaningful features used by customers across the UK, develop\nyour technical skills and explore the latest tools and technologies-with AI increasingly\nembedded in how we build and work.\nAbout the role\nAs an Android Engineer, you’ll take ownership of well-defined features and contribute\nthroughout the development lifecycle, from early ideas through to release and iteration.\nDay-to-day, you’ll be:\nCollaborating with designers, product managers and other engineers to build high-quality customer experiences.\n\nDesigning, building and shipping Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.\n\nContributing to the development of our in-house Server-Driven UI framework, helping us deliver features and dynamic experiences more quickly.\n\nSupporting and improving our mobile infrastructure, including CI/CD pipelines with\n\nGitHub Actions, Google Play deployment workflows and automated UI testing.\n\nWriting clean, maintainable and well-tested code.\n\nParticipating in code reviews and technical discussions, learning from others while sharing your own ideas.\n\nPaying close attention to UI detail, accessibility and the overall app experience.\n\nBuilding an understanding of the backend systems and APIs that power our app.\n\nMonitoring released features and helping to resolve issues when they arise.\n\nContributing to the engineering standards and practices used across the Mobile Engineering group.\nAbout you\n\nWe’re looking for someone with:\n\nCommercial experience building Android applications.\n\nGood knowledge of Kotlin and modern Android development.\n\nExperience with Jetpack Compose, or an interest in developing your skills with it.\n\nAn understanding of common mobile development principles, patterns and testing practices.\n\nExperience building and releasing features as part of a collaborative product team.\n\nThe ability to write clear, maintainable and well-tested code.\n\nGood collaboration and communication skills.\n\nA proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of your work.\n\nCuriosity and a genuine desire to continue learning and developing as an engineer.\n\nYou could be a great fit if\nYou’ve contributed to reusable components or modules.\n\nYou enjoy working closely with product and design to solve customer problems.\n\nYou’re comfortable owning features while asking for support when needed.\n\nYou care about building polished, reliable and accessible mobile experiences.\n\nYou’re interested in using modern technologies, including AI, to improve products and engineering workflows.\n\nYou enjoy sharing ideas, receiving feedback and learning from experienced engineers.\n\nBonus\nYou don’t need to tick every box, but it would be helpful if:\n\nYou have experience with Server-Driven UI.\n\nYou have worked with A/B testing or experimentation.\n\nYou have some exposure to CI/CD and automated mobile testing.\n\nYou have integrated ML or AI-powered functionality into an app.\n\nYou have experience or an interest in backend or full-stack development.\n\nYou have experience taking a feature from an initial idea through to release.\n\nLocation\nHybrid working, with two days a week in our London office and the remainder working from\nhome.\nOur interview process\nQualifying Screen - 30 minutes\n\nTechnical Interview - 60 minutes\n\nSoft Skills Interview - 60 minutes, onsite depending on the team\n\nYou can expect to hear back from us within a week of each interview stage.
