You will work in a professional environment with an established building services team where you will be offered the opportunity to work on an exciting range of projects, and to continue your professional development.\nAs a Mechanical Engineer, working as an integral part of the Built Environment (buildings and facilities) team, your duties will include but not be limited to the following:\nManaging the delivery of assigned projects\nWorking and liaising with associated engineering disciplines as part of delivering projects\nManaging internal and external stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction and pursuing and promoting opportunities with existing as well as prospective clients\nDeveloping engineering from a feasibility stage to completion, and articulation to the support team\nDevelopment of resilient and redundant services infrastructure solutions\nWorking as part of a multi-discipline team to deliver projects\nWorking with the leadership team to grow the Mechanical team in Canada and the overall footprint of the business\nCo-ordinating mechanical design with architectural and other disciplines\nCarrying out design and calculation work using relevant industry software\nDeveloping, maintaining and monitoring programs for scheduling and reporting on deliverables across specific projects\nMaximizing profitability of projects, monitoring against budget, reacting and anticipating potential problems and communicating in line with client expectations\nDemonstrating technical expertise, providing in-depth knowledge and leadership whilst proactively coaching and developing more junior team members\nProviding expert engineering input into design; and evaluation of built environment proposals.\nMentoring other Mechanical Engineers and Designers and support developing their growth plans with the Mechanical Discipline Lead.\nThe ideal candidate will have the following experience:\nBachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university\nProfessional Engineer status with a relevant professional body in Canada\nAt least 8 years’ relevant experience in mechanical building services design and execution for major development with a consultancy and/or design and build background.\nExperience of working in various infrastructure projects including buildings, airports, and large-scale transport infrastructure\nSolid knowledge in Canada building standards, codes and regulations\nExcellent understanding of BIM/VDC, preferably with experience in a BIM tool\nExperience in the design of plumbing and drainage systems\nSkills in sustainability and green initiatives, with a demonstrated track record\nPositive ‘can-do’ attitude, to working with colleagues and clients.\nFamiliar with energy modelling software such as IESVE, Trace and HAPP\nExperience in LEED, with LEED accreditation preferred.\nA collaborative, open and constructive approach with developed relationship management, interpersonal and influencing skills.\nA digital and sustainability advocate.\nAdaptable to working within different client environments/cultures.\nWilling and able to travel within Canada and internationally as required to support projects.\nBring your expertise, curiosity, and drive to make a difference.
