As part of a Joint Venture team supporting a large Transportation Authority, we are seeking a Requirements Engineer to join one of the most significant transportation infrastructure programs in California.\nThis is an exciting opportunity to support the management and verification of technical requirements on a complex, multidisciplinary rail transit project while collaborating with industry-leading engineers and subject matter experts.\nAs a Requirements Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the project's requirements management program, helping ensure compliance with client, regulatory, and technical requirements throughout the design process. Reporting to the Design Integration Manager, you will work closely with Design Managers, Discipline Leads, and Subject Matter Experts to maintain requirements traceability and support successful project delivery.\nKey responsibilities:\nSupport the development, maintenance, and administration of the project requirements database for design deliverables.\n\nCapture and organize requirements derived from design criteria, technical specifications, standards, and project documentation.\n\nCollaborate with Design Managers, Discipline Leads, and Subject Matter Experts to ensure requirements are accurately allocated and maintained.\n\nSupport day-to-day requirements management activities across the project.\n\nDevelop and maintain Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTMs) for project deliverables.\n\nReview and evaluate compliance evidence to confirm requirements verification and validation activities.\n\nPerform quality control reviews of RVTMs to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of:\n\nRequirement attributes\n\nRequirement allocations and ownership\n\nVerification status and dates\n\nCompliance documentation\n\nSupporting comments and evidence\n\nEnsure approved requirement changes are captured, tracked, and implemented within the requirements management system.\n\nSupport continuous improvement of requirements management processes and project controls.\n\nYou are detail-oriented, analytical, and thrive in a collaborative project environment. You enjoy working with complex technical information and have a passion for ensuring quality, compliance, and project excellence.\nCandidate Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.\n\n5+ years of relevant industry experience.\n\nHands-on experience with Requirements Management (RM) software, specifically IBM DOORS Next Generation.\n\nExperience supporting requirements management activities on large-scale infrastructure, transportation, or rail transit projects.\n\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.\n\nAuthorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.\n\nPreferred experience\nExperience on major rail transit, transportation, or infrastructure projects.\n\nFamiliarity with systems engineering principles and requirements verification processes.\n\nExperience developing or maintaining Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTMs).\n\nUnderstanding of configuration management, change management, and technical compliance processes.\n\nThis position is located in San Jose, CA.
