Join us and shape your story with Mott MacDonald, where everyone has the opportunity to be brilliant.\nRole purpose\nWorking as a Test Engineer within our enterprise wide business platforms, you will join our growing team focused on modernising Mott MacDonald’s delivery to our colleagues & clients through cross-cutting technologies and best practices.\nAs a Test Engineer, you will be collaborating with our software engineering team(s) & vendors to further improve the quality of our products and keep a mindful eye on how we can make them even better.\nKey responsibilities\nThe specific duties include:\nWork with our business stakeholders, software engineering teams & vendors to ensure requirements are understood, achievable, and tested\n\nInvestigate and debug difficult problems, and help drive them to closure\n\nEvaluating adequacy and quality assurance standards\n\nCreating detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases (end-to-end)\n\nEstimating, prioritising, planning and coordinating testing activities\n\nIdentifying, recording, documenting in detail and tracking identified bugs\n\nPerforming regression testing following the resolution of bugs through the designing, developing and executing automated scripts\n\nTracking quality assurance metrics\n\nContributing to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation\n\nBe a proactive proponent for quality in every phase of the development process.\n\nKey skills\nSkills:\nGood knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes\n\nExperience in writing comprehensive test plans and test cases\n\nExperience in Test Case Management Tools (e.g. TestRail), Defect Management Tools (e.g. DevOps, Jira)\n\nHands-on experience with automated testing tools and knowledge of BDD test automation frameworks (e.g. Specflow, TestNG)\n\nInterest in GUI (e.g. Selenium) and API testing\n\nInterest in SOA architectures and micro-services\n\nInterest in Machine Learning\n\nExperience\nThe successful candidate will be able to show work product from this period The candidate should have proven work experience in software quality assurance.\nUniversity Degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience\n\nSelf-motivated with passion for quality\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\n\nExcellent knowledge of QA methodologies - writing test plans and test cases\n\nExperience in cloud computing (e.g., applications, infrastructure, storage, platforms, data)\n\nOne+ years of experience of software QA and automation testing experience\n\nAble to execute automated tests, understand the code and prioritize any failures\n\nFlexible working\nAt Mott MacDonald, we support our staff to create work-life balance which works for them and welcome candidates looking for career flexibility.
