This role is within our Rail Systems team and will contribute to the growth of our Canadian operations.\nKey Responsibilities:\nContribute to the Traction Power and Electrification Systems engineering aspects of rail and transit project delivery, including interfacing with electrical, civil, track, and systems design teams\nPrepare conceptual design and provide input to budget development for traction power systems in project bids\nReview and validate designs, specifications, installation plans, and testing procedures for traction power substations, power distribution, and electrification systems\nSupport project teams throughout the full lifecycle, from feasibility to commissioning\nProvide expert technical input to clients during the development of system requirements and contract documentation\nInterface with utility providers for power supply coordination and integration\nDevelop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and delivery partners for traction power equipment and solutions\nEngage with clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and technical standards\nApply lessons learned and recommend corrective actions to improve project outcomes\nCandidate Specification:\nBachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or related discipline\nAt least 7 years of experience in the design, specification, installation, or maintenance of traction power system, overhead, or power rail systems (a strong background in passenger rail and transit projects is an asset)\nProfessional Engineering license in APEGA, EGBC, or PEO \nExperience in one or more of the following areas:traction power system\npropulsion power system via linear induction motor and reaction rail\npower rail systems including 3rd rail or 4th rail\nstinger systems, maintenance shop power to LRV\n\nFamiliarity with Canadian and international standards for railway electrification and power systems\nExperience with one or more of the following digital integration systems is an asset:delivery of 3D models\ndrafting in AutoCAD or MicroStation\nautomation workflows \n\nINCOSE ASEP or CSEP certification is desirable\nAbility to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and conduct technical discussions with clients and partners\nKnowledge of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle management (IEC/IEEE 15288)\nKnowledge or familiarity of project management principles (related to PMBOK)\nStrong communication skills and fluency in English\nAt Mott MacDonald, our employees have a stake and a voice in our business, providing them with a direct connection to our success through our personal and group performance bonuses.\n**Candidates with greater levels of relevant experience are encouraged to apply; responsibilities, title, and salary may be adjusted based on qualifications and experience**\nThe expected salary range for this position is from $99,000 - $134,000.\nCollaboration at Our Core\nAt Mott MacDonald, we believe great ideas happen when we're together.
