To continue to perform and grow our traffic design services in North Carolina, Mott MacDonald is expanding our Traffic Engineering team. With a significant backlog of work, we are searching for a Traffic Engineer with NCDOT traffic signals experience and knowledge. This role is based in our Raleigh, NC office.
Responsibilities of the position will include, but may not be limited to:
- Provide project and technical leadership in Traffic Engineering
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of traffic engineering principles required to complete projects for clients in the southeastern US region
- Provide input and responsibility on a wide range of transportation projects
- Demonstrated the ability to direct and coordinate work with subject matter experts and consultants to meet schedules
- Assign, review, and evaluate project deliverables for quality and consistency with project scope
- Deliver technical projects and reports
We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:
- BS (Civil) Engineering, or equivalent
- Professional registration preferred (not required)
- Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) a plus
- 5+ years’ experience in Traffic & Transportation Engineering preferred
- Signal design, signal timing plan development, signing plan development, ITS and/or traffic control experience a plus
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
- Experience or training in computer applications and operations (Microsoft Office, MicroStation (ORD and/or V8i), etc.)
