Our research integrates large-scale epidemiological data with multi-omics approaches, including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, and metabolomics, to better understand the molecular mechanisms underlying environmental health effects and disease susceptibility.\nThis position is well-suited for candidates with a strong background in environmental epidemiology, bioinformatics, computational biology, or biostatistics who are interested in applying advanced statistical and computational approaches to investigate the relationships between environmental exposures, molecular mechanisms, and disease. The successful candidate will have opportunities to lead research projects, develop innovative analytical approaches, collaborate with researchers across disciplines, and contribute to high-impact scientific publications.\n Requirements\nA doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, MD) is required. Additional required qualifications include:\nPhD in epidemiology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational biology, or a related field\nStrong statistical and computational skills, including proficiency in R and/or Python\nExperience analyzing complex epidemiological, high-dimensional biological, or multi-omics datasets\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong scientific writing skills, including experience preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication\nAbility to independently develop and execute research projects\nAbility to work on multiple concurrent projects\nAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team\nStrong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in environmental epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, or exposure assessment\nExperience analyzing and integrating multi-omics data, including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and/or metabolomics\nExperience with bioinformatics pipelines and computational tools for processing and analyzing omics datasets\nKnowledge of advanced statistical methods for high-dimensional data analysis, including machine learning and data integration approaches\nExperience combining molecular data with epidemiological and environmental exposure data\nFamiliarity with causal inference and mediation analysis\nExperience working with large-scale population-based cohorts and complex epidemiological datasets\nA strong publication record and demonstrated ability to communicate scientific findings effectively\nExperience with grant writing or developing research proposals\nResponsibilities\nConduct large-scale statistical and bioinformatics analyses of epidemiological and multi-omics datasets\nInvestigate associations between environmental exposures and head and neck diseases using advanced epidemiological and computational approaches\nIntegrate environmental exposure, epidemiological, and multi-omics data to identify molecular pathways and biological mechanisms underlying disease risk\nDevelop and apply innovative statistical and computational methods for analyzing high-dimensional and multi-modal datasets\nLead the preparation and publication of scientific manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals\nPresent research findings at national and international scientific conferences\nCollaborate with epidemiologists, bioinformaticians, basic scientists, clinicians, and other researchers across multidisciplinary projects\nContribute to grant applications and the development of new research proposals\nMaintain well-documented and reproducible analytical workflows\nCompensation Statement\nThe Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $74,69200 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need.
