You will help unlock massive throughput, low latency, and resilience across consensus, data availability, and privacy - the invisible rails that make an open and decentralized future possible.\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Protocol to join our core systems team and architect the backbone of the Movement Network. In this role, you will drive development of latency-critical, correctness-sensitive components such as consensus, state synchronization, and mempool systems. You’ll use Rust for distributed systems that operate under real-world load, and you’ll help shape foundational protocol design alongside other senior engineers.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, implement, and optimize core protocol components, including:\nConsensus mechanisms\n\nState synchronization and replication\n\nMempool and transaction propagation\n\nBuild high-performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems in Rust\n\nImprove system throughput, reliability, and latency at scale\n\nPartner with research and product teams to iterate protocol designs\n\nDebug and resolve complex distributed systems challenges in live environments\n\nContribute to engineering standards for testing, benchmarks, and safe releases\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nDeep experience as a Rust generalist with a focus on systems programming\n\nStrong background in distributed systems (consensus, replication, networking, async primitives) and design tradeoffs\n\nExperience building or operating production infrastructure or protocol software\n\nExcellent understanding of:\nAsynchronous concurrency and performance optimization\n\nNetwork protocols and peer-to-peer systems\n\nDesign tradeoffs in decentralized systems\n\nRigorous approach to correctness, testing, and reliability\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with blockchain protocols or consensus engines\n\nExposure to EVM or MoveVM ecosystem\n\nBackground in high-throughput, low-latency systems\n\nFamiliarity with cryptographic primitives used in consensus/security\n\nPrior work in decentralized or open-source protocol communities\n\nWhy Join Us\nWork on critical infrastructure powering a rapidly growing Move ecosystem\n\nJoin a community-centric, technically elite team of former Facebook, Google, Uber, Apple enginers\n\nCompetitive compensation with meaningful upside\n\nA culture that values technical excellence, clarity, and extreme ownership\n\nOpportunity to impact real-world adoption of decentralized financial system\n\nOur Engineering Culture\nMake it live.
