MP is rapidly evolving from a materials producer into a leading U.S. manufacturer-and our people are driving that transformation.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician will ensure process and product quality standards are being achieved through chemical and physical analytical techniques. This is a rare opportunity to have an early role in implementing manufacturing test methods for a greenfield advanced manufacturing facility that is helping to define the future of American manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technician with experience in a complex 24/7 industrial operation. The position will report to a QA/QC Manager.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nOperate laboratory analytical equipment including some combination of ICP, LECO, XRF, XRD, SEM, optical microscopes, dimensional analysis and magnetometry.\nReview and record analytical results in LIMS/database.\nSupport testing method development, assessment, validation, and roll-out under guidance of the Technology team.\nMaintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.\nAssist in tracking and maintaining the chemical inventory.\nPerform lab housekeeping and routine inspections.\nPerform routine statistical analysis (SQC) on quality data.\nParticipate in Gage R&R and other measurement system assessments.\nActively participate in Kaizen events, safety programs, and adhere to all appropriate laboratory safety and operations procedures.\nMaintain safe work practices.\nParticipate in Process Hazard Analysis procedures and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.\nBasic Qualifications:\nAptitude and experience with chemical testing techniques and instrumentation.\nCertificate or Associate Degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or other relevant science or engineering field.\nAvailability to rotate shifts to accommodate our 24/7 manufacturing operations.\nFamiliarity with computers, data entry, and analysis.\nAs least 1 year of lab experience.\nExperience with chemical test methods and material characterization of rare earth materials.\nMP Materials is Proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer -\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
