MP is rapidly evolving from a materials producer into a leading U.S. manufacturer-and our people are driving that transformation.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Senior Internal Auditor supports the execution of MP’s risk-based internal audit plan, including SOX compliance activities, operational audits, advisory projects, and other internal audit initiatives. This role will partner with stakeholders across the organization to evaluate risks, assess the effectiveness of internal controls, identify process improvement opportunities, and promote a strong control environment.\nThe Senior Internal Auditor will work collaboratively with management, external auditors, and cross-functional teams to provide practical recommendations that enhance operational effectiveness, strengthen controls, and support MP’s strategic objectives.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nPerform operational and SOX audits in accordance with professional standards, including planning, risk assessment, control evaluation, testing, issue identification, action plan development, and reporting.\nEvaluate business processes and internal controls to identify risks, inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for improvement.\nUtilize data analytics and audit technology to identify trends, anomalies, exceptions, and potential risk indicators.\nIdentify, document, and communicate audit observations and practical recommendations to management.\nMonitor remediation efforts and track management action plans through completion.\nWork closely with external auditors to support the annual SOX compliance process and promote audit efficiencies.\nParticipate in reviews of new systems, business processes, and organizational initiatives to evaluate risks and control implications.\nBuild effective relationships across the organization and collaborate with stakeholders to drive timely completion of audit objectives.\nAssist in the preparation of audit reports, presentations, and other materials for senior management and the Audit Committee.\nPerform special projects, investigations, and other internal audit-related responsibilities as requested.\nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.\n3-5 years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, risk advisory, or a related discipline. \nExperience with SOX compliance, internal controls, and operational auditing.\nStrong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis using PivotTables, lookup functions, and other analytical tools.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment. \nAbility to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. \nWillingness to travel periodically to company locations, as needed.\nDesired Qualifications:\nExperience in a Big 4 or other large public accounting firm or within the Internal Audit function of a publicly traded company.\nExperience auditing manufacturing, inventory, procurement, supply chain, cost accounting or capital project processes.\nExperience with data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, SQL, or similar technologies.\nExperience utilizing SAP and/or AuditBoard.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information and audit-related topics to non-technical audiences.\nCIA, CPA or other related professional certifications.\nMP Materials is Proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
