MP is rapidly evolving from a materials producer into a leading U.S. manufacturer-and our people are driving that transformation.\nPosition Overview:\nThe Pump Rebuild Crew & Machine Shop Supervisor leads daily activities for the pump rebuild shop and machine shop. This role supervises craftsmen and technicians responsible for rebuilding, repairing, machining, inspecting, and testing rotating equipment and plant assets. The supervisor ensures safe execution of work, quality workmanship, schedule adherence, and continuous improvement of shop operations.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nSupervise pump rebuild technicians, machinists, and shop personnel.\nPlan, prioritize, and coordinate rebuild and machine shop activities.\nEnsure pumps, gearboxes, valves, rotating equipment, and related components are rebuilt to specification.\nReview work orders, drawings, tolerances, and repair scopes.\nCoordinate inspections, precision measurements, and quality checks.\nEnsure safe operation of machine tools, welding equipment, lifting devices, and shop equipment.\nManage shop scheduling, labor utilization, and backlog.\nSupport root cause failure analysis and reliability improvement efforts.\nMaintain accurate records in SAP systems.\nDevelop and train employees on machining, rebuild, and safety procedures.\nCoordinate with Operations, Reliability, Engineering, and Planning teams.\nSupport budgeting, inventory control, and spare parts management.\nCoordinate off-site pump rebuilds, including planning, execution, quality control, and customer communication.\nBasic Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\n5+ years experience in pump repair, rotating equipment maintenance, machining, or related industrial maintenance.\n2+ years supervisory or leadership experience.\nStrong knowledge of pumps, bearings, seals, alignment, machining practices, and precision measurement tools.\nAbility to read engineering drawings and equipment manuals.\nDesired Qualifications:\nTechnical degree or apprenticeship in machining, millwright, or mechanical maintenance.\nExperience with SAP or CMMS systems.\nMining, mineral processing, manufacturing, or heavy industrial experience.\nMP Materials is Proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
