M&S people simply “care hard”, and this reflects in our work products, our interactions, and our culture.\nJob Description:\nThe main function of a Front-End Developer is responsible for using their knowledge of programming languages to code user-side applications, including visual elements like menu bars, clickable buttons and the overall layout of websites or web applications. Their duties include communicating with clients to identify their needs, optimizing websites for different formats like desktops and mobile phones and running tests to ensure code strings perform the correct functions.\nJob Responsibilities:\nDeep and thorough knowledge of Next.JS and React, no AI or agentic coding will be allowed in their environment. Must be very comfortable in all layers of the code, from the top user-facing React components to the server-side Next.JS routing and API handling. Be comfortable with maintaining package versions, do major version upgrades and resolve breaking changes that accompany those. Create and maintain integrations with 3rd-party services (mostly analytics, the big ones are Google Analytics, Siteimprove, and Qualtrics).\nExperience with Strapi, both using it and making code changes. The assigned tasks could range from making a new simple collection type to writing expansive custom middleware. Expert-level knowledge is not strictly required but more experience is beneficial.\nExperience with using Java-based Selenium for writing automated tests. This is a nice-to-have, as there will be plenty of examples to reference (I had no prior experience and got up to speed almost immediately).\nSome level of familiarity with ADO (Azure Dev Ops), since this will be the main way to manage everything from sprints to features to code pull requests and deploys.\nWorking with clients to develop the overall look and design of a website. \nWriting website code with programming languages such as HTML, C++ and Java. \nProducing, maintaining and modifying websites and user interfaces. \nIncorporating applications, graphics, audio and video clips into client websites. \nCreating tools that enhance the user's website experience. \nEnsuring websites are accessible across many platforms, including laptops and smartphones. \nRoutinely testing websites for ease of use, speed and other quality factors. \nFixing any website issues or bugs that arise. Skills: - Proficiency in website programming languages such as HTML, C#, CSS, Python, C++ and JavaScript. \nUnderstanding of key website design principles and SEO optimization. \nAbility to use client input to create functional, creative and user-friendly webpages. \nAbility to test and debug websites. \nAnalytical and detail-oriented. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. \nAdvanced problem-solving skills. \nObservant and able to remain focused on tasks for long periods of time.\nNice to Have:\nSome experience with Qualtrics. \nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Information Technology or related experience. \n5 years of experience.\n*M&S Consulting proactively fulfills its role as an equal opportunity employer.
