Prior experience with revenue recognition is helpful, but just as important is a willingness to learn, strong judgment, and exceptional attention to detail.\nhttps://careers.msci.com/life-at-msci\nYour Key Responsibilities\nWhat You’ll Do:\nAs part of the team, you’ll help ensure that sales opportunities are accurately reflected in Salesforce and comply with MSCI’s Run Rate Policy and applicable revenue recognition principles.\nYou will:\nReview sales opportunities from contract to system, comparing contractual terms with Salesforce data such as deal term, fees, products, billing structure, and other key commercial details.\nEnsure accurate run rate reporting by applying MSCI’s Run Rate Policy consistently across both standard and non-standard transactions.\nIdentify and resolve discrepancies between executed contracts and Salesforce records before they impact downstream financial reporting.\nBuild expertise in deal structures and revenue recognition, including the application of ASC 606 principles to commercial arrangements.\nPartner across the organization, working closely with Sales, Sales Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to clarify contract terms and resolve questions.\nExercise judgment and know when to escalate, identifying complex or ambiguous transactions that require additional accounting or policy guidance.\nCreate a strong audit trail by clearly documenting review conclusions, decisions, and supporting rationale.\nPlay a critical role during month-end and quarter-end close, helping the team review and clear opportunities accurately and within reporting deadlines.\nStay current on evolving policies and processes, applying updates consistently to active deal reviews.\nYour skills and experience that will help you excel\nWhat Will Help You Succeed:\nWe’re looking for someone who combines analytical thinking with strong attention to detail. You don’t need to know everything on day one, we value people who are curious, comfortable asking questions, and motivated to build expertise!\nYou’ll be well positioned for success if you have:\nExceptional attention to detail and an ability to spot inconsistencies across contracts, data, and systems.\nConfidence reading and interpreting commercial contract terms.\nBasic familiarity with revenue recognition concepts, including ASC 606, or the ability and interest to learn them quickly.\nExperience with Salesforce or another CRM, or confidence navigating and learning new systems.\nThe ability to work independently and manage priorities under tight deadlines, particularly during month-end and quarter-end periods.\nStrong written communication skills and the ability to document decisions clearly and concisely.\nGood judgment and confidence raising questions or escalating situations when the answer isn’t straightforward.\nA collaborative mindset and comfort working with stakeholders across different functions.\nExperience in finance operations, deal desk, revenue operations, contracts, accounting, audit, or a similar environment is a plus-but it isn’t essential if you bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.\nWhy This Role?\nThis role offers much more than reviewing transactions.
