You'll have the opportunity to build your experience across management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and financial systems, while contributing to improvements in how we work.\nYour work will include:\nSupporting budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and monthly reporting.\n\nPreparing reconciliations, journals, accruals and financial information for Treasury and other reporting requirements.\n\nWorking with budget managers to help them understand financial information, processes and delegations.\n\nSupporting financial controls, policies, systems and opportunities for process improvement.\n\nAs a relatively small agency, you'll have the opportunity to get involved in a broad range of finance activities, work closely with decision-makers and see the impact of your contribution.\nHe kōrero mōu | About you\nYou'll bring a sound understanding of accounting principles, strong attention to detail and an interest in understanding how financial information supports good business decisions.\nWe're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes ownership of their work and is comfortable balancing competing priorities.\nYou'll bring:\nRelevant accounting experience and a sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an eye for accuracy and detail. \nThe ability to explain financial information clearly and build good working relationships with non-financial colleagues. \nA proactive approach to improving processes and finding practical solutions. \nA relevant tertiary qualification, together with professional accounting accreditation or an interest in working towards it. \nA working knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and te ao Māori, and a willingness to continue developing and applying this in your work. \nExperience in the public sector would be useful, but what matters most is your accounting capability, initiative and willingness to contribute.\nUtu ā-tau | Salary\nThe salary range for this role is $79,617 to $112,401.
