Job Description

The Automation Lead, Digital, Data & Analytics, Portugal will lead the development and implementation of automation and MarTech capabilities at market level, helping to streamline marketing, commercial and medical operations, improve internal efficiency, increase data accuracy and enable scalable customer engagement.

This role will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Digital, Data & Analytics, Marketing, Medical, Sales, IT, Compliance, Legal and external partners to identify automation opportunities, design effective workflows, support system integration and drive adoption of automation, AI-enabled solutions and digital tools.

The Automation Lead will be responsible for translating business needs into practical, compliant and scalable solutions, while ensuring alignment with local priorities, global standards and relevant regulatory, legal and internal compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification, assessment and prioritization of automation opportunities across marketing, commercial and medical processes.
  • Define and execute the local automation roadmap, aligned with business needs and global initiatives.
  • Drive the adoption of automation and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, scalability and operational agility.
  • Map, design, implement and optimize end-to-end automated workflows across campaign management, content processes and operational activities.
  • Deploy automation technologies, including marketing automation tools, workflow tools, RPA and other relevant solutions, to reduce manual work and improve productivity.
  • Manage and optimize the local Marketing Technology ecosystem, including marketing automation platforms and digital tools.
  • Ensure effective system integration and seamless data flow across platforms.
  • Align local implementations with global architecture and standards, including lifecycle management, tagging, taxonomy, accessibility and related requirements.
  • Ensure that automation and digital processes follow applicable regulatory, legal, data privacy and internal compliance standards.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, validation and audit readiness for automated processes and systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues and ensure the smooth functioning of automated processes and systems.
  • Provide training, onboarding, documentation and ongoing support to end-users to maximize adoption and effective use of automation tools.
  • Monitor automation performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Marketing technology, digital marketing, automation or related roles.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms, such as Veeva or Salesforce.
  • Experience with marketing automation platforms, such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe or HubSpot.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments.

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or another regulated industry.
  • Exposure to Agile methodologies.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration experience.
