You will collaborate closely with other engineers, productmanagersand delivery leads, to translate functional and non-functional needs into high-quality solutions, working both independently as well as a part of a global team.\nWhat will you do in this role:\nDevelop andmaintaincomplex full-stack applications and software configurations in collaboration with global cross-functional teams\n\nDevelop responsive, accessible user interfaces using modern web technologies (e.g., React/Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript).\n\nDesign and implement RESTful APIs and microservices, using technologies such as Node.js/Express, Java/Spring Boot, or equivalent).\n\nDesign test cases and test scripts independently, mapping back topre-determined criteria, recording and reporting test outcomes.\n\nEnsure quality through automated and manual testing, code reviews, and participation in design and requirements discussions.\n\nBuild, deploy, andoperateapplications on cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), following cloud-native best practices.\n\nUse DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Git, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring/observability) for versioning, deployment, and release automation.\n\nApply secure development practices, including API security, authentication/authorization, and data protection.\n\nGather requirements and design lifecycle practices and automation for secure, well-engineered systems and micro-services.\n\nContribute to Product planning, execution, and delivery within a matrix organization.\n\nWhat should you have:\nBachelors’ degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field\n\n3-7 years of hands-on experience working in full-stack development\n\nPrimary skills (must-have): Python\nWeb fundamentals: HTML, CSS, HTTP, REST APIs\n\nDatabases: SQL and relational database design (plus practical query optimisation)\n\nProgramming: proficiencyin at least one major stack (TypeScript/Node/React, Java,Pythonor .NET)\n\nFamiliarity with cloud platforms (preferably AWS and/or Azure) and cloud-native concepts (e.g., microservices, containerization, managed services)\n\nExperience with DevOps practices (Git, infrastructure as code, observability, CI/CD) and modern product development practices (Agile, Scrum, test driven development, UX, design thinking)\n\nStrong problem-solving skills with a product and customer-centric mindset\n\nFront end technologies like Angular, React\n\nSecondary skills (nice to have)\nExperience with advanced frontend concepts (state management, performance optimization, accessibility)\n\nExposure to data processing, analytics, or search technologies (e.g., Power BI, Elasticsearch, data pipelines)\n\nExperience with DevOps and observability tools (e.g., Docker, infrastructure as code, logging/monitoring solutions)\n\nCloud-native, ideally AWS certified\n\nWho we are:\nWe are known as Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, New Jersey, USA in the United States and Canada and MSD everywhere else.
