This role provides direct leadership to hourly production team members while driving performance in the areas of safety, food safety, quality, productivity, service, and employee engagement.\nThe Production Supervisor partners with cross-functional teams to execute production plans, maximize operational efficiency, develop team capability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES / PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nSafety Leadership\nPromote and maintain a culture focused on employee safety and regulatory compliance.\n\nEnsure adherence to company safety policies and safe work practices.\n\nInvestigate incidents and implement corrective actions.\n\nLead safety training and engagement activities.\n\nProduction Operations\nDirect daily production activities to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and service objectives.\n\nManage staffing, equipment utilization, and production schedules.\n\nMonitor performance and address operational issues proactively.\n\nSupport startup, changeover, and operational readiness activities.\n\nDrive efficient utilization of labor, materials, and equipment.\n\nSupport productivity, waste reduction, and cost performance objectives.\n\nProtect company assets through proper equipment operation and procedures.\n\nCommunicate objectives, policies, expectations, and operational priorities.\n\nPartner with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Planning teams.\n\nMaintain production documentation and reporting.\n\nTeam Leadership & Development\nLead, coach, and develop hourly production associates.\n\nConduct performance management activities.\n\nPromote employee engagement, accountability, and teamwork.\n\nSupport onboarding and ongoing employee development.\n\nQuality & Food Safety\nEnsure compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, sanitation, HACCP, and customer requirements.\n\nReinforce quality standards and verify product specifications are met.\n\nEscalate and address food safety and quality concerns.\n\nSupport corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nContinuous Improvement\nAnalyze operational metrics and identify improvement opportunities.\n\nLead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.\n\nImplement action plans to address performance gaps.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS / CAPABILITY PROFILE\nMinimum Education\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\n\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Food Science, or related field preferred.\n\nMinimum Experience\n3+ years of manufacturing, production, or operations experience required.\n\nPrevious leadership or supervisory experience preferred.\n\nFood manufacturing, packaging, or consumer products experience preferred.\n\nExperience leading hourly workforces preferred.\n\nMinimum Knowledge/Skills/Abilities\nLeadership and team development\n\nCoaching, performance management, and employee engagement\n\nProduction operations and workflow management\n\nProblem-solving, root cause analysis, and decision-making\n\nContinuous improvement mindset\n\nFood safety, quality, and GMP compliance awareness\n\nEffective verbal and written communication skills\n\nPlanning, organization, and prioritization skills\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and production reporting systems\n\nWorking Conditions & Physical Requirements\nPosition is based onsite in a food manufacturing and packaging facility.\n\nFrequent exposure to production environments, moving machinery, food allergens, varying temperatures, and elevated noise levels.\n\nMust be available to support varying shifts, overtime, weekends, and business needs as required.\n\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the production facility.\n\nAbility to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated platforms when necessary.\n\nAbility to occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.\n\nAbility to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.\n\nAbility to wear required PPE.\n\nAbility to work in refrigerated, ambient, and warm production environments.\n\nMSI Express is an equal opportunity employer.
