Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Patient Care Technician to become part of our team of dedicated professionals! As a member of our Magnet-designated Nursing team, you will provide support to the inpatient nursing staff while helping ensure the comfort and safety of our patients and their family members.

M19: Surgical Special Suites

18-bed inpatient oncology surgical unit specializing in gynecologicalsurgery, plasticsurgery, andOphthalmology Radiation & Amenities Programservices. The unit cares for high-profile patients, often referred to as a “amenities” unit. Care on this unit encompasses Breast Plastic reconstructive surgery, and general medical-surgical oncology populationscaringfor all patients and no special rations for the amenities program. The environment isfast paced, requiring strong multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure continuity of care andoptimalpatient outcomes.

Role Overview:

• Work under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse and assist patients in a timely and efficient manner

• Handle patient care situations with a high level of integrity, compassion, and professionalism

• Responsible for taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and collecting specimens

• Collaborate with the clinical team and provide assistance with procedures as needed

• Use basic computer and data entry skills to support clinical documentation

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of healthcare-related experience in one or more of the following roles:

  • Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

OR

• If less than 2 years of experience:

  • A Nursing Assistant or other healthcare-related certification obtained within the past 12 months, AND

  • At least 1 year of healthcare-related experience in one of the roles listed above

• BLS certification required by time of hire

• Epic EMR experience preferred

• Location: 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY

• Schedule: Nights Three 12-hour shifts 7pm-7:30am; Monday through Friday, rotating weekends and holidays
