This position will support challenging electrical and controls design projects for DOE and nuclear facilities, with opportunities to work across power distribution, instrumentation, control systems, testing, and implementation. Candidates with experience in either electrical power systems or instrumentation and controls are encouraged to apply. Nuclear/DOE experience and an active Q clearance are preferred.\nLocation: On-Site in Oak Ridge, TN\nSalary: Depending on Experience\nResponsibilities\nDesign and develop electrical power systems, instrumentation, and control systems for DOE and commercial nuclear projects.\nProvide engineering deliverables, including:One-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams\nInstrumentation and control logic diagrams\nEquipment specifications and calculations (e.g., load flow, voltage drop, short circuit, arc flash)\nCable schedules and material take-offs\n\nPerform power systems modeling and analysis using software tools like ETAP or SKM.\nEnsure designs are compliant with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, ISA, and other applicable standards.\nParticipate in configuration management, technical reviews, and design verification.\nSupport construction, testing, startup, and troubleshooting activities as needed.\nInterface with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, structural, and systems engineering.\nAssist with estimating and scheduling engineering efforts.\nMentor junior engineers, if in a senior role.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nB.S. Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university\n4+ years relevant electrical and/or I&C engineering experience\nExperience with electrical power distribution and/or instrumentation/control systems\nAbility to read and develop applicable engineering drawings and documentation\nKnowledge of applicable electrical/I&C codes and standards\nU.S. citizenship\nAbility to obtain a DOE Q clearance\nPreferred Qualifications:\nActive DOE Q clearance\nDOE or commercial nuclear design experience\nTennessee PE or ability to obtain PE\nETAP or SKM\nPLC/DCS experience, including Rockwell/Allen-Bradley or Siemens\nMedium-voltage distribution experience\nInstrument selection and datasheet preparation\nP&ID experience\nNQA-1 experience\nAdditional Skills\nExcellent customer service and communications skills.\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team.\nAbility to deal with conflicts and stressful situations.\nAbility to organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks to completion.\nMicrosoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.\nBenefits:\nAll eligible employees enjoy an excellent benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance, short/long-term disability, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off including holidays, and tuition reimbursement.\nEEO Statement:\nMSTI is an equal-opportunity employer.
