The ideal candidate will have experience developing piping system layouts, engineering deliverables, and design documentation in collaboration with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.\nLocation: Onsite and/or Hybrid in Oak Ridge, TN\nSalary Range: Depending on Experience\nResponsibilities:\nSupport system and mechanical engineering design activities for complex industrial and nuclear projects\nPrepare and review engineering deliverables including P&IDs, specifications, calculations (e.g., pipe stress, hydraulic, safety valve sizing, ventilation sizing), and equipment arrangements\nDevelop piping and utility system designs supporting facility infrastructure, process support systems, and operations\nCoordinate with process, structural, electrical, and I&C engineering teams\nPerform piping and mechanical system field walkdowns and support design verification activities\nAssist with piping system evaluations, equipment selection, and design modifications\nSupport project planning, procurement, construction, startup, testing, and commissioning activities as needed\nParticipate in design reviews and resolution of technical issues\nInterface with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project teams as needed\nEnsure designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, safety requirements, and client specifications\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline\n9+ years of relevant engineering experience\nExperience supporting piping and mechanical system design for industrial, manufacturing, energy, chemical, or nuclear facilities\nFamiliarity with engineering drawings, P&IDs, piping layouts, and mechanical design documentation\nKnowledge of applicable industry codes and standards\nU.S. Citizenship required\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license\nMust have the ability to acquire a security clearance\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting DOE, NNSA, Naval Reactors, or commercial nuclear projects\nExperience with 3D modeling or CAD tools such as AutoCAD Plant 3D, CADWorx, SolidWorks, CREO, or similar software\nExperience with analytical software such as pipe stress analysis, hydraulic analysis, MathCAD, MATLAB, or similar tools\nAdditional Skills:\nExcellent customer service and communications skills.\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team.\nAbility to deal with conflicts and stressful situations.\nMicrosoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint.\nBenefits:\nAll eligible employees enjoy an excellent benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance, short/long-term disability, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off including holidays, and tuition reimbursement.\nEEO Statement:\nMSTI is an equal-opportunity employer.
