In this role, you will be responsible for preparing financial project reports, billing and accounts payable processes, and providing valuable financial analysis to support decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills, exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.\nResponsibilities:\nThis position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: \nProject AdministrationSetup & maintenance of projects with the company’s ERP - Unanet\nEstablish project cost codes, billing rates, and other financial parameters\nWork closely with project controls to provide timely and accurate project level financial information \n\nBilling/ARPrepare customer billings on a periodic basis or as needed required by contract\nUpdate billing spreadsheets based on customer required formatting\nMonitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments\nInterface with customers to resolve billing and collection issues\n\nGeneral AccountingGeneral ledger reporting support\nSupport Month End Close Activities \nSpecial projects as assigned by the CFO\nAddress audit inquiries and make recommendations for process improvements\n\nTimekeepingAssist in timesheet intake\nEnsure hours allocated properly per company and government guidelines\nCommunicate with employees as needed to ensure timesheets are filled out properly\nTroubleshoot timekeeping system with employees\n\nPayablesAssist in receiving project related vendor invoices\nEvaluate invoices for accuracy and compare to originating purchasing documents\nEnsure proper G/L coding and approvals\nEnter invoices into the company ERP\nInterface with project vendors and subcontractors on payables issues\n\nPurchasing/ProcurementAssist in processing procurement documents to include purchase requisitions and purchase orders in support of the Company’s quality program\n\nOther duties as assigned or requested. \nExperience/Education:\nAssociates degree from an accredited college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or other related discipline preferred.\nExperience with Unanet or other accounting software preferred.\nWorking knowledge of multi-entity reporting is preferred.\nExperience working in government contracting (DOE, DOD) is preferred.\nAdditional Skills:\nExcellent customer service and communication/interpersonal skills.\nAbility to interact effectively with all levels of employees and managers, and external contacts.\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team.\nAbility to work in secure environment and properly handle company sensitive and priority information.\nMicrosoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, SharePoint.\nBenefits:\nAll eligible employees enjoy an excellent benefits package, including medical/dental/vision insurance, short/long-term disability, life insurance, 401(k), paid time off including holidays, and tuition reimbursement.\nEEO Statement:\nMSTI is an equal-opportunity employer.
