Welcome to MSX.\n We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer to support the design, development and maintenance of scalable software applications, integrations and business intelligence solutions. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced software engineers to develop services and applications using Java and .NET (C#), contribute to system integrations and build and maintain Power BI reporting solutions that enable informed business decision making. This role will provide an excellent opportunity to develop software engineering expertise while contributing to reliable, secure and high-quality digital products.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain scalable software applications, app components, and services under guidance from senior team members\nAssist in building, maintaining and enhancing reports, dashboards and data models to support business reporting needs\nContribute to the design, development and implementation of app integrations, APIs, backend services and data exchange processes with databases, cloud services and third-party systems\nDevelop, test and support user-focused, reliable and maintainable software features, fixes and enhancements for downstream users and systems\nMaintain software quality, security, performance and coding standards, including validation, error handling, logging and quality controls\nMonitor application and app execution performance, and support the investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of software, integration, reporting and data discrepancy issues\nSupport the delivery of operational, reporting and customer-facing technology solutions\nCollaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, senior engineers, architects and other stakeholders to understand requirements and build scalable solutions\nFollow established software engineering standards, best practices and development frameworks\nSupport deployment, release and CI/CD activities for software and reporting solutions\nAssist with performance tuning of apps, services, database queries and reports\nParticipate in code reviews, testing and continuous improvement initiatives\nProduce and maintain technical documentation\nEnsure compliance with security, data protection and regulatory requirements\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, estimation and retrospectives\n.\n Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or experience within a related discipline.\nMicrosoft Azure Fundamentals or Azure Developer Associate certification (desirable).\nMicrosoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification (desirable).\nRelevant software development, cloud or business intelligence certifications are advantageous\n1 to 3 years of experience in software engineering, application development, business intelligence or related technical roles, gained through commercial experience, internships or academic projects\nFoundational Java and/or .NET (C#) development skills.\nWorking knowledge of Power BI report development, dashboards and data modelling concepts\nGood SQL skills and understanding of relational databases\nBasic understanding of software development lifecycles and application architecture\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities\nGood communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to software quality\nGood documentation and technical writing skills\nProactive attitude and eagerness to learn modern software engineering technologies and practices\nDesirable Skills\nExposure to cloud platforms and services, such as Microsoft Azure\nFamiliarity with REST APIs, web services and application integration patterns\nUnderstanding of software testing, secure coding and quality assurance principles\nExposure to DevOps practices and source control platforms\nKnowledge of Agile delivery methodologies\n Working Pattern and Location\n40 hours per week \nBased in Warwick \nPackage\nSalary up to £35,000 per annum\nOther company benefits include:25 days annual leave\nCompany contributory pension plan\nCash back health care scheme\nLife assurance\nCar salary exchange scheme\n\nPotential to progress within the company, with global opportunities updated regularly.\nWith over 5,000 employees based in more than 80 countries across the globe, our teams provide industry leading expertise that spans:\nConsumer Engagement\nParts, Accessories & Service Performance\nActionable Insights\nRepair Optimization & Compliance\nLearning Solutions\nDistribution & Sales Performance\nOur proven track record means that we now partner with almost every car manufacturer on the market.\nMSX is an equal opportunities employer and encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, neurodiversity or other personal characteristics and backgrounds, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, or marital and parental status.
