Provides direct leadership of Data Visualization team Leads.\nPOSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:\nLead the effort to enable data informed decisions by gathering visualization requirements from business line senior management and assigning to data visualization teams.\nDevelop best practices for data visualizations, publishing Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards/reports, training organization on tool usage and providing advice and oversight to Data Visualization Leads as they implement.\nEncourage continuous improvement culture for visualizations by facilitating ongoing senior leadership feedback loops.\nEnsure Data Visualization Leads are implementing a consistent quality assurance process for the creation of accurate data models and visualization within BI Tools and serve as a point of escalation to approve and/or provide guidance on process exceptions.\nEnsure templates, standards and themes developed by data visualization teams are intuitive to navigate and understand by business users regardless of their data literacy. \nEnsure data visualization teams provide actionable insights to the lines of business.\nEnsure consistent access to ad-hoc analysis and self-service BI tools across the enterprise. \nExercise usual authority of a manager concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, performance management and terminations.\nUnderstand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.\nUnderstand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.\nPromote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.\nMaintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.\nComplete other related duties as assigned.\nNATURE AND SCOPE:\nMANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:\nNumber of direct reports: 5-8.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:\nBachelor’s degree and a minimum of 9 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 13 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 9 years related experience\nMinimum of 3 years managerial, supervisory and/or work leadership experience\nTactical experience with a minimum of one data visualization tool\nExperience designing and developing advanced dashboards/reports and data visualizations\nExpert knowledge of data visualization approaches\nExperience incorporating data storytelling into visualizations\nExperience using Structured Query Language (SQL) to analyze, extract, and transform data\nIDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:\nTactical experience with multiple data visualization tools\nExperience driving business value through data visualizations\nKnowledge of data management concepts and terminology\nCertification in data storytelling and/or data visualization tools\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $148,300.00 - $247,100.00 Annual (USD).
