Business and Product partners remain accountable for defining business needs, business rules, customer outcomes, and the overall “why” and “what.” The Technology Product Owner translates that direction into an actionable technology backlog and drives the technical capabilities necessary to deliver those outcomes.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nProduct Ownership & Delivery\nOwn and prioritize the technology backlog for assigned DBX capabilities.\nTranslate Product and Business objectives into features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements.\nPartner with Product Owners, Engineering, and Architecture to align priorities, solution approaches, dependencies, risks, and tradeoffs.\nLead backlog refinement and participate in sprint planning, PI planning, demos, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.\nEnsure delivered capabilities meet functional and technical expectations.\nCoordinate cross-team and upstream/downstream dependencies, escalating gaps, risks, and decisions as needed.\nData Migration & Conversion\nPartner with Engineering and Data teams to define source-to-target requirements, mappings, transformations, validation, and reconciliation.\nSupport customer and account conversion strategies, migration waves, seed files, batch files, and related data requirements.\nUnderstand conversion scenarios across Consumer, Business, and Wealth customer populations.\nSupport mock conversions, migration readiness, and resolution of data quality issues and exceptions.\nDefine reconciliation and validation criteria to ensure migration completeness and accuracy.\nTranslate business conversion requirements into executable technical backlog items.\nTechnical & Platform Ownership\nDevelop a strong understanding of the DBX technology ecosystem, data flows, APIs, batch processing, file-based integrations, and system dependencies.\nPartner with Engineering on platform enhancements, technical enablers, defects, and technical debt.\nAssess upstream and downstream impacts of technology changes.\nFacilitate cross-functional technical discussions across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data, Testing, and Operations.\nIdentify ownership gaps across teams or systems and drive resolution.\nOperational Readiness\nEnsure capabilities are designed with production support and operational readiness in mind.\nSupport runbooks for migration, batch, and production processes.\nEnsure exception handling, reconciliation, monitoring, recovery, and support requirements are incorporated into the backlog.\nPartner with Engineering, SRE/Production Support, Testing, and Operations on production readiness.\nEnsure conversion plans include clear execution, validation, exception management, and rollback procedures.\nEducation and Experience Required\nBachelor’s degree and a minimum of 6 years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 10 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 6 years’ business, analytical, technical and/or product experience.\nProduct Ownership experience managing and prioritizing complex technology backlogs, translating business needs into technical requirements, and partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data, and Testing teams.\nStrong data migration and conversion experience.\nTechnical fluency across SQL, relational databases, APIs, data models, integration patterns, and system dependencies.\nAgile delivery experience, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and PI or large-scale planning.\nPreferred Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data/Analytics, Business, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.\nExperience supporting core or digital banking conversions, customer/account migrations, or other large-scale data conversions.\nExposure to banking platforms, customer and account data, entitlements, data reconciliation, and regulatory/data-control environments is highly valued.\nProduct Owner or Agile certification such as CSPO, SAFe POPM, or equivalent is beneficial.\nExperience with enterprise Agile delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence.\nExperience supporting major technology modernization or platform transformation initiatives.\nExperience operating in complex environments involving multiple applications, vendors, and technology teams.\n# DBX; #PO; #ProductOwner; #Agile #Batch; #Data; #Migration; #Digital\nM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $123,600.00 - $206,000.00 Annual (USD).
