This role serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex banking requirements into scalable Hogan solutions. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Hogan modules, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to lead initiatives across large-scale banking systems.\nKey Responsibilities\nBusiness Analysis & Requirements\nPartner with business units (Retail, Business & Commercial Banking, Digital Banking, Wealth, etc.) to gather, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements. In this role you will leverage your knowledge of both Hogan systems and the Bank’s tech ecosystem to define and develop appropriate system enhancements.\n\nUsing your Hogan knowledge, translate business needs into detailed system specifications, process flows, and data mappings.\n\nFacilitate requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and gap analyses.\n\nHogan System Expertise\nThis is a hands-on keyboard role. You will leverage your Hogan knowledge to analyze and implement system configurations, parameter changes, and custom enhancements within Hogan.\n\nDemonstrable subject matter expertise and strong examples of delivering complex solutions across Hogan modules (such as IDS, CIS and RPM).\n\nTroubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution with development teams and vendors.\n\nSolution Design & Delivery\nCollaborate with developers and architects to design scalable solutions aligned with departmental and enterprise standards.\n\nCreate and review functional design documents (FDDs) and assist with technical specifications.\n\nEnsure alignment between business requirements and Hogan system capabilities.\n\nTesting & Implementation\nDevelop test strategies, test cases, and support SIT/UAT execution.\n\nCoordinate defect management and ensure timely resolution.\n\nSupport production deployments, validation, and post-implementation reviews.\n\nStakeholder Engagement\nAct as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, providing insights into system capabilities and constraints.\n\nCommunicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.\n\nLead cross-functional initiatives and mentor junior analysts.\n\nData & Integration\nAnalyze data flows between Hogan and downstream systems (e.g., GL / Balancing, reporting, payments).\n\nSupport integration efforts using APIs, batch processes, and middleware solutions.\n\nEnsure data integrity, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nCombined minimum of 5 years' higher education and/or operational/business analytics experience\n\nStrong knowledge of banking operations, including deposits, payments, and customer information systems.\n\nExperience with Hogan upgrades, conversions, or cloud transformations.\n\nExperience with SQL, data analysis, and system integrations.\n\nProven experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).\n\nStrong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\n\nSuperior communication skills and demonstrated ability managing multiple stakeholders with conflicting interests.\n\nFamiliarity with mainframe environments (COBOL, JCL).\n\nKnowledge of API integrations and modern banking interfaces.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n7+ years of hands-on experience with Hogan core banking systems, including delivering large and complex solutions that impact multiple interfacing applications.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field.\n\nExperience working with third-party vendors and managed services providers.\n\nKey Competencies\nSignificant expertise as a Hogan BSA\n\nStrategic thinking and systems analysis\n\nStrong communication and stakeholder management\n\nAttention to detail and quality focus\n\nLeadership and mentoring capabilities\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\n\nWe support our team members with generous benefits.\nCompetitive compensation\n\nHealth, welfare, and retirement benefits\n\n401(k) match at 5%\n\nWork-life balance and flexible work arrangements\n\nBanking Officers start with 25 days PTO plus 12 paid holidays\n\n40 hours paid volunteer hours per year\n\nM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees.
