As a global nonprofit organization that saves and heals lives by honoring donated gifts and serving patients, we collaborate with the medical, scientific, as well as organ and tissue donation communities. \nOur goal is simple-do what's right for patients, surgeons, tissue donors, and their families through our guiding principles.\nThe Triage Coordinator/Triage Coordinator-Transplant (TC) is responsible for responding to incoming calls from hospitals and other referring agencies for both initial and update calls, collecting data regarding potential donors to determine if they are candidates for donation, and informing the caller of donation potential. In addition, this position will handle all organ allocation related processes for donation, transplantation and research. The TC will also be responsible for conducting medical interviews via phone with transplant patients or their designee to update their medical records relative to their transplant waitlist status. Additionally, they are responsible for completion of Fresh Tissue process regarding tissue testing on fresh tissue grafts, and data entry related projects or service.\nNight shift with five 7.5-hour shifts per week.\n$21-$25 an hour\nResponsibilities\nAnswers incoming calls in a timely and professional manner.\nListens and responds to caller's needs for guidance and information.\nFollows computer prompts to complete referral message and organ import offer process accurately.\nObtains necessary medical information regarding potential donors from the caller and documents/records information clearly and concisely.\nConducts state donor registry checks as applicable for all potential donors.\nMemorization of key medical abbreviations and special computer codes needed for documentation\nPlaces appropriate outbound calls to involved agencies per client protocol.\nRelays all known information to appropriate agencies on cases status.\nReceives and logs all fresh tissue graft cases per process and conducts all necessary follow up to secure test results related to the client process.\nPlaces outbound calls to conduct medical interviews with wait listed transplant patients per client protocol and when appropriate, enters data in to designated data systems.\nPerforms Lab Data Entry function for all related projects/services.\nDocuments organ import offers and contacts necessary personnel in a timely manner.\nReceives and evaluates all organ offers per client protocol whether for transplant or research. This includes organ specific clinical evaluation, test results, physical descriptions and specific requirements as outlined by client.\nConducts any required outbound communication with OPO's, HLA Labs, transplant coordinators, transplant surgeons or research doctors related to active organ placement cases until such time as a decision to accept or decline the offer is reached.\nDemonstrates proficiency related to process or quality investigations and communication of findings to supervisor/manager.\nPerforms Advance Quality Assurance responsibilities on basic referral calls, Fresh Tissue process, waitlist process and organ allocation processes.\nMaintains and advances technical skills through professional education and training thereby increasing the effectiveness of the department.\nAssists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nHigh School Diploma/G.E.D. with medically related college course work, medically related certification program\n3 Years Medical background or training (EMT, Paramedics -
