Lyons Lift Drivers operate our wheelchair accessible van to support individuals with permanent or temporary mobility limitations with rides on campus, ensuring them safe and friendly access to classes, dining, and other campus locations, as well as the Village Commons.In this role, you would be asked to work coverage shifts as needed and for special events.\nEnsure the safe transportation of individuals on route\n\nAssist individuals entering and exiting the vehicle as needed\n\nProvide curb-to-curb service in a professional, safe, and courteous manner\n\nConduct and document vehicle safety checks before each shift\n\nManage scheduling with passengers during shifts\n\nReport and record all incidents to Public Safety Dispatch and document for the Lyons Lift Supervisor.\n\nMaintain confidentiality and professionalism\n\nKeep vehicle clean and free of trash\n\nRecord daily ridership records\n\nCommunicate with the direct supervisor any issues or concerns\n\nQualifications:\nYou must be a fleet-certified driver or able to become certified\n\nValid driver’s license (any state) and satisfactory driving record (no violations within the last year)\n\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment. Call volume can be very high before and after classes, as well as during bad weather\n\nAbility to assist individuals in and out of vehicles\n\nExcellent interpersonal skills, pleasant and friendly demeanor\n\nAbility to communicate effectively with riders and supervisors\n\nDemonstrated ability to work independently\n\nMust be available to attend all meetings and training sessions\n\nSatisfactory criminal background check and drug/alcohol screen may be required\n\nAll drivers and riders must wear seat belts.
