Working closely with programme teams, engineering functions, suppliers and senior stakeholders, you will ensure solutions are secure, scalable, supportable and aligned to architectural standards and strategic roadmaps.\nThis role requires a broad, multi-disciplinary architecture background, with the ability to work across multiple technology domains rather than specialising in a single area. You'll provide architectural leadership across cloud, infrastructure, workplace technologies, networking and security, helping to shape both current delivery and future technology direction.\nResponsibilities:\nReport to the System Design Authority and support architectural governance activities.\nDefine solution architectures and technical designs that meet business requirements within agreed cost, time and technical constraints.\nSupport the development and evolution of technology standards, strategies and roadmaps across workplace and enterprise technology portfolios.\nProvide technical leadership and architectural guidance to programme and engineering teams throughout the project lifecycle.\nWork closely with internal and external technology suppliers, ensuring technical governance and delivery expectations are met.\nEnsure security principles are embedded into solution designs and support ongoing security improvement and remediation activities.\nMaintain knowledge of current technologies, industry trends and emerging architectural practices to inform future business strategy.\nCollaborate with the wider architecture community to promote consistency, best practice and architectural integrity across programmes.\nSkills & Experience:\nExperience designing and delivering solutions within modern hybrid cloud environments.\nStrong knowledge of hosting and workplace technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS.\nExperience delivering cyber-secure solutions and applying secure-by-design principles.\nProven experience in systems engineering, network design and technology delivery.\nStrong understanding of recognised architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, MODAF or Zachman.\nExperience operating across multiple technology domains, including cloud, infrastructure, networking, workplace technologies and security.\nExcellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage audiences ranging from engineering teams to senior leadership.\nDesirable Skills\nTOGAF certification or willingness to work towards accreditation.\nUnderstanding of Agile and Scrum delivery methodologies.\nAwareness of industry standards such as ISO9001 and ISO20000.\nExperience supporting accreditation and assurance activities within regulated environments.\nExperience working across multiple government security classifications.\nDefence, government or other highly regulated industry experience.\nSecurity architecture, cyber security or security remediation experience would be particularly advantageous.\nWe're seeking a versatile architect who can comfortably operate across a broad technology landscape. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills, enabling them to translate complex concepts into practical solutions and influence stakeholders at all levels.\nGiven the volume of security remediation and improvement activity within the portfolio, candidates with strong security-focused architecture experience will be particularly valuable.
