Reporting to the First Operations Manager, this position is responsible for the setup and operation of Amada and Mitsubishi NC/NCL lasers and Messer Plasma equipment in a fast-paced, just-in-time fabrication environment.\nThe Laser Operator will set up equipment, load materials, monitor cutting operations, inspect completed parts, and make adjustments to ensure quality and production standards are m\nResponsibilities\nSet up and operate Amada and Mitsubishi NC/NCL laser cutting equipment and Messer Plasma equipment.\n\nVerify material type and thickness for accuracy before loading and processing.\n\nLoad raw materials and unload completed parts using appropriate material-handling equipment.\n\nDe-nest completed parts and remove laser oxide or other residue as needed.\n\nRead and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications.\n\nMonitor cutting operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality.\n\nIdentify and troubleshoot basic machine alignment, cut condition, and program issues.\n\nApply a basic understanding of G-code and M-code when troubleshooting or making machine adjustments.\n\nInspect and measure completed parts to verify conformance with specifications.\n\nUse gauges and precision measuring equipment to ensure dimensional accuracy.\n\nComplete assigned work according to established production, quality, and efficiency standards.\n\nRecord production time and completed work using the company’s computer-based data collection system.\n\nSafely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move raw materials and completed work.\n\nMaintain equipment performance logs and report maintenance concerns or deficiencies.\n\nPerform operator-level preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.\n\nCross-train on multiple laser and plasma platforms and production cells.\n\nAssist with training other operators on equipment setup and operation as experience allows.\n\nIdentify and report material, production, equipment, or quality issues.\n\nAssist other operators or production areas as needed.\n\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.\n\nFollow all company and plant safety procedures.\n\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nPrevious laser cutting, CNC machine operation, or similar manufacturing experience preferred.\n\nExperience operating Amada or Mitsubishi laser equipment is a plus.\n\nStrong mechanical and technical aptitude.\n\nBasic understanding of G-code and M-code.\n\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and production specifications.\n\nBasic computer skills.\n\nAbility to perform basic shop math.\n\nExperience with dimensional measuring and ability to learn precision measurement tools.\n\nAbility to safely operate a forklift.\n\nPrevious overhead crane experience is preferred.\n\nStrong attention to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.\n\nAbility to troubleshoot basic machine, program, and production issues.\n\nStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.\n\nDependable, self-motivated, and able to work efficiently.\n\nAbility to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate with other
