If you are passionate, driven, and ready to join a team where your work will directly transform and shape our industry, then we want to talk to you!\nWhat will your job look like?\nThe Manager, Safety is responsible for implementing safety as defined by the Leadership of Safety Administration and will ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, as well as corporate, client guidelines and policies.\nLocation: 3333 South Market Street Redding, CA 96001\nSchedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm\nwith availability to be on-call as needed.\nSalary Range: $65,000 - $75,000 depending on experience.\nWhat you’ll do:\nManage a consistent safety culture that incorporates various departments, such as operations, safety and maintenance\nOversee Corporate Safety Incentives and programs effectively and consistently, including assignment of Safety Points\nImplement and support the company and client’s safety management system (SMS) safety plan and initiatives Manage and monitor the FTA’s drug and alcohol DAMIS reporting requirements\nMonitor and support all location insurance claims activities to ensure effective communication with claimants, to help control claims costs and support claims closure\nLead and support the local safety committee and SMS Ambassador group\nOversees the locations worker compensation program to ensure compliance and effectively reduce/eliminate claims\nPromote employee self-responsibility to achieve all safety goals\nEnsures all new hires meet minimum qualifications for each division including, background and DMV checks\nEnsure all safety manuals, programs and policies and practices are current and meet the needs of the operating divisions; updating as appropriate\nSuccessfully complete all related audits including those conducted by the Company, the Client, internal staff members, and state and federal regulatory agencies\nReview, determine and respond to all vehicular, passenger and employee accidents/incidents, indicating the cause and preventability, identifying potential trends to be addressed in future training efforts\nProvide functional expertise in safety regarding hiring of safety department employees\nCollaborate with local Leadership to deliver comprehensive safety meetings and plans\nAct as the location drug program manager, ensuring compliance of FTA/DOT regulations\nOther duties as assigned\nWhat you’ll need:\nExperience, Education & Certifications:\nHigh School Diploma or G.E.D.\nBachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field\nMinimum 5 years of transit/paratransit safety management experience\nPrevious management experience in a union environment\nThorough knowledge of all applicable safety rules, regulations - ADA, FTA and DOT to include all corporate programs\nMust possess a valid driver’s license\nMust possess or be willing to acquire a CDL\nMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and DOT physical and maintain physical throughout employment\nSkills:\nAbility to read, write and speak English\nAbility to obtain future certifications as defined within the location contract\nAbility to communicate effectively and work with all departments\nAbility to work independently and objectively\nStrong organizational and analytical skills\nAbility to effectively delegate tasks and provide appropriate supervision and follow up to department staff\nFamiliar with windows-based computer operating systems and Microsoft Office packages\nAbility to maintain high level of confidentiality\nRegular attendance is required\nEven better if you have...\nInstructor Certification Program (FMCSA)- CDL testing instructor\nWhat’s in it for you:\nHealth and Life Insurance Plans\nDental and Vision Plans\n401(k) with a company match\nPaid Time Off and Holiday Pay\nMaternity/Paternity Leave\nCasual Dress Environment\nTuition Reimbursement\nMTM Perks Discount Program \nLeadership Mentoring Opportunities \n\nSalary Min: $65,000 /annually\nSalary Max: $75,000 /annually\nThis information reflects the base salary pay range for this job based on current national market data.
