Join us and you’ll develop your skills and expertise to the very highest levels, working in an international environment for a company known the world over for its brilliance.\nPosition Summary:\nThis position is a technical expert leading position in the researching, designing, and development of new products and interfacing the control systems related to systems operation. As well as being a lead for the development of software for sustainable solutions.\nKey Accountabilities:\nBe the lead architect for both control system platforms and HMI multi touchscreen development platform generator panel and SCADA cabinets.\nBe the technical lead for development of controller software development for sustainable solutions like Microgrids, Battery Containers and Fuel Cells.\nManage the specification of interfaces between MTU hardware (ECU’s, control panels, PLC’s) and the balance of plant systems such as switchgear and power distribution systems on a global level\nDevelop special customer applications with MTU controls system\nDesign controls system for R&D programs\nInterface electrical and mechanical applications and systems with the MTU controls system\nWork directly with controls and governor manufacturers to improve functionality and mitigate issues\nSpecify, design, validate, and maintain MTU control systems\nHardware responsibilities: voltage regulators, control panels, engine ECUs, PLC’s, and other protective relays\nWork within a global electrical engineering organization and co-ordinate with global team in respective projects\nAssist all areas of company with controls related issues\nDevise strategic plans for problem resolutions using facts and gathered data\nInvolve in development and validation of special customer projects and as required.\nBasic Requirements:\nApplicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and 7 years of electrical/controls or electronics engineering experience; or 11 years of electrical/controls or electronics engineering experience\nAbility and willingness to travel for business trips (20%)\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExcellent technical knowledge of control systems for gas and diesel fueled power generation systems for continuous, standby and mission critical applications including subsystems such as switchgear, transformer stations / substations, grid interconnections and controls for island and microgrid solutions\nExcellent knowledge of power generation and distribution systems\nExcellent analytical abilities and creative problem-solving skills to quickly gather facts and draw conclusions when situations are extremely complex.\nExcellent ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, line diagrams, ladder diagrams, point to point diagrams and shop drawings\nExcellent ability to work independently and effectively with others\nExcellent organization, planning and follow-up skills\nStrong leadership and negotiation skills\nStrong Computer Skills: AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD electrical, Programming (Programmable Logic Devices), MS Office and Bluebeam Revu\nRolls-Royce is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
