Other duties may be assigned.\n\nDirects department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.\n\nProvides cost estimates for production parts.\n\nDirects and coordinates activities of engineering personnel to ensure projects progress on schedule and within prescribed budgets.\n\nEvaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.\n\nConfer with management, production, and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.\n\nReviews and approves design changes. Works with designers to meet design standards.\n\nDirects purchasing activities for tooling and outside services.\n\nMay be required to perform some duties of process, mechanical, and electrical engineering in their absence.\n\nUtilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to help understand unplanned equipment downtime, implement predictive maintenance solutions, and optimize performance.\n\nQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A.) from a four-year college or university; or minimum of seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS \n6-Sigma, SPC\nLean Management, preferred but not required.\n\nOTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES \nBlueprint reading a must.
