The role will drive platform standardization, infrastructure modernization, automation, and service improvement initiatives by leveraging Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and AIOps methodologies.\nThe incumbent will collaborate with regional infrastructure, security, architecture, and application teams to deliver scalable and resilient platform solutions while reducing operational risk, manual effort, and service complexity. This role plays a critical part in strengthening operational resilience, enhancing service quality, and supporting the Bank’s digital transformation objectives through intelligent automation and engineering-led operations.\nKey Accountabilities\n1. Operations and Service Management\nProvide executive oversight for 24x7 platform operations across APAC.\n\nEnsure stability, availability, capacity, patching, and lifecycle management of virtualization environments.\n\nLead major incident management, escalations, and cross-tower coordination.\n\nDrive automation-first operations (Ansible, PowerShell, IaC).\n\n2. Observability & SRE Enablement\nEstablish an observability-first operating model (metrics, logging, tracing).\n\nDrive adoption of SRE practices (SLO/SLA, error budgets, resilience engineering).\n\nImprove operational visibility using platforms such as Dynatrace / Splunk / equivalent.\n\n3. Risk, Security and Audit\nEnsure platforms are secure and compliant with regulatory requirements (e.g., MAS, internal audit).\n\nOwn vulnerability remediation, patch compliance, and security posture.\n\nLead audit engagements and ensure audit-ready evidence and controls.\n\nGovern privileged access and platform identity controls.\n\n4. Regionalization and Transformation\nDrive migration of branch workloads to regional platforms (hosting consolidation).\n\nLead capacity optimization and cost discipline (CAPEX/OPEX governance).\n\nStandardize operating models across APAC branches (patching, monitoring, DR, automation).\n\n5. Stakeholder and Governance Management\nAct as senior escalation point for Windows Server support issues\n\nPartner with application, middleware, network, security, and cloud teams.\n\nEnsure alignment with enterprise architecture and risk governance forums.\n\nJob Requirements:\nYour responsibilities will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation, coding scalable solutions using modern frameworks, and ensuring seamless integration between various enterprise platforms. By leveraging your deep technical expertise in SRE practices and Infrastructure as Code methodologies, you will help eliminate repetitive operational tasks while driving improvements in standardization, resilience, and reliability. Your contributions will be vital in supporting the organization’s commitment to operational excellence by enabling intelligent operations through AIOps frameworks and robust API integrations. Success in this role requires strong hands-on capabilities to code in Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript.\n10+ years’ experience in IT Infrastructure.\n\nExtensive experience working within banking or financial services technology environments where regulatory compliance and security are paramount.\n\nDemonstrated track record of delivering large-scale automation projects across infrastructure landscapes.\n\nExpert-level proficiency (L2) in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).\n\nAdvanced programming skills in Python, PowerShell, and JavaScript for developing custom scripts and integrating diverse systems efficiently.\n\nSolid understanding (L2) of API integration techniques, along with hands-on experience using DevOps tools for continuous delivery pipelines.\n\nDeep expertise (L2) in Windows administration, MECM, and JSON/YAML scripting formats.\n\nSelf-motivated approach with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality.\n\nMicrosoft and related infrastructure product certifications or relevant project references are considered advantageous.\n\nOpen to working in extended shifts or weekends on a regular or rotational basis.\n\nCandidates who are already based in Bangalore will be preferred.\n\nExperience working as part of virtual teams in regional or global technology roles.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nMitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is an equal opportunity employer.
