The Research Assistants will work closely with the Data Manager, Research Associates and other members of the study team.\n\nKey Duties and Responsibilities: \n\nThe holder of this position will work under the supervision of the BD/LEN Data Manager and will be responsible for the following duties:\n\nCoordinate scheduling, facility entry, and logistics for each data abstraction round at the selected study facilities.\n\nSupport Research Associates with health facility record abstraction from the Integrated ANC/PNC registers, PrEP registers and the Prevention Tracker, where designated.\n\nRun errands between MU-JHU and study facilities to facilitate data collection activities, including management of tablets and study materials.\n\nMonitor daily data entry and synchronisation of tablets (REDCap Mobile App) to the MU-JHU REDCap server and run REDCap Data Quality rules and scripted checks for completeness, validity and consistency.\n\nProvide real-time data review feedback to Research Associates and the study team, and raise, track and close data queries using the REDCap Data Resolution Workflow.\n\nCarry out quality control measures through the review of collected data for completeness and validity.\n\nPerform ongoing data cleaning per abstraction round, ensuring facility identifiers and variable definitions are harmonised across rounds.\n\nMaintain and verify a log of facility-specific LEN introduction dates used to classify observations as pre-implementation or post-rollout.\n\nTroubleshoot to identify common causes of errors during documentation /protocol deviations and report them to the Data Manager for corrective/preventive actions.\n\nPerform designated administrative duties and assist the Data Manager in compiling study reports; coordinate with the Program Manager on report inputs as needed.\n\nSupport the consent process for health facility managers and qualitative participants where designated and trained.\n\nReview consent documents for completeness before handing them over to the Regulatory Affairs office for safe custody.\n\nAdhere to confidentiality agreements and data security procedures in line with the protocol and the Data Management SOP.\n\nAny other duties reasonably assigned by the relevant authorities\n\nQualifications, Skills and Experience: \n\nA Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma equivalent in a health–related field or social sciences.\n\nAt least 2 years’ experience working in a Health or clinical research data handling setting and computer literacy is required.\n\nCommitment, reliability, attention to detail, and personal integrity are essential for this position.\n\nHow to Apply:\n\nApplications with complete C.Vs, including 3 referees and their full addresses or contact Tel No.’s, copies of academic certificates and testimonials (application should not exceed 15MBs) , should be addressed to MU-JHU Human Resource Director and submitted not later than 23rd October 2026 by 5.30pm.\n\nOnly short-listed applicants will be contacted.
