We are a self-performing specialty contractor specializing in design-build applications, HVAC systems, plumbing, process piping systems, boiler and chiller systems, equipment installation and rigging, plant relocation and maintenance, and metal fabrication. \nResponsibilities:\nMust be able to observe and recognize problems during the welding process and adjust speed, voltage, amperage, or feed of the rod accordingly\nRead & understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.\nPerform code (ASME, AWS or API) compliant welds using GMAW, SMAW, GTAW & FCAW processes\nProperly operate vertical/horizontal band saws and use fabrication shop hand tools. (grinders, drills, air tools, etc.)\nAbility to take detailed instruction and meet high quality standards.\nOperate forklifts & overhead cranes\nRig, hoist/lift & move materials\nMaintain safe and clean work environment\nRequired to adhere to all safety rules and regulations\nAdditional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.\nQualifications:\nMinimum of 4-5 years’ experience required\nMust be able to weld qualification test;\nFCAW and/or GMAW welding process in the 3G & 4G position using Carbon Steel plate.\nSMAW and GTAW welding processes in the 6G position with Carbon and/or Stainless Steel pipe.\nPositive “can do” attitude & strong work ethic.\nMust be able to read & understand weld symbols, weld procedures, mechanical and structural drawings.\nKnowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices.\nMust be able to use Oxy/fuel & Plasma hand cutting torch.\nFlexible working schedule to support project needs.\nConsidered a Plus:\nASME pipe welding experience\nFit-up & layout experience on structural/misc. steel and pipe spools\nExperience with machine equipment such as mill or drill press\nFamiliarity with weld inspections and related NDE (RT, MT, PT)\nPipe welding experience with ASME B31.3, B31.4 and API 1104 codes\nFamiliarity with weld inspections, inspection documentation and NDE (RT, UT, MT, PT)\nFormal/technical education\nJoin Us\nMullins Mechanical ranked #243 on the 2024 ENR Top Specialty Contractors list, #48 in the Nation and #5 in the Southeast among Firms in Mechanical.
