Working closely with Operations, Safety, Quality, Human Resources, and executive leadership, the Learning & Development Manager ensures training programs align with operational priorities while helping employees build the skills needed to perform safely, effectively, and consistently. This role requires a strong understanding of workforce development, adult learning, organizational effectiveness, and the unique training challenges of the construction industry.\nKey Accountabilities\nEnterprise Learning Strategy & Workforce Development\nDevelop and execute a company-wide workforce development strategy that supports field employees, operational leaders, project teams, and corporate functions.\nPartner with executive and operational leadership to identify critical skill gaps, workforce risks, and future talent needs.\nEstablish structured learning pathways that support employee growth from onboarding through leadership development.\nAlign learning initiatives with operational excellence, safety performance, quality standards, succession planning, and long-term business objectives.\nDrive a culture of continuous learning across offices, fabrication facilities, and jobsites.\nLearning Management System Governance\nServe as the business owner of the company's Learning Management System (LMS).\nEstablish governance standards for course organization, learning pathways, reporting, content management, and user experience.\nPrioritize LMS enhancements, new functionality, and learning technology initiatives.\nEnsure training programs and learning content are administered through a consistent and scalable framework.\nPartner with team members responsible for LMS administration, reporting, and content management to support ongoing system effectiveness.\nConstruction Workforce Training\nPartner with operational leaders to identify training needs across field operations, project management, fabrication, quality, and corporate functions.\nEnsure training programs support safe work practices, quality standards, operational procedures, and construction best practices.\nSupport the development of structured onboarding, technical skills training, and field leadership training programs.\nPromote consistency and standardization in training delivery across jobsites and locations.\nHelp ensure training programs effectively support workforce readiness and operational excellence.\nLeadership Development Programs\nOversee the development and coordination of leadership training programs for current managers and emerging leaders.\nPartner with HR and business leaders to align leadership training initiatives with organizational needs.\nEnsure leadership programs are practical, relevant, and focused on building leadership capability within a construction environment.\nEvaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements based on participant feedback and business outcomes.\nTeam Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nLead, coach, and develop Learning & Development team members.\nEstablish team priorities, goals, and performance expectations.\nPartner with Operations, Safety, Quality, Human Resources, and executive leadership to align training efforts with business priorities.\nBuild strong relationships with field leaders and internal subject matter experts to support effective training development and delivery.\nFoster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Learning & Development function.\nAdditional responsibilities may be assigned based on project needs and the individual’s development within the role.\nMeasures of Success\nSuccess in the Learning & Development Manager role is demonstrated by:\nEffective execution of the company's learning and development strategy.\nStrong adoption and utilization of the Learning Management System.\nHigh-quality onboarding, technical, safety, quality, and leadership training programs.\nConsistent learning standards and governance across the organization.\nPositive feedback from employees, field leaders, and department leadership regarding training effectiveness.\nIncreased visibility into training participation, compliance, and program outcomes.\nEffective leadership and development of the Learning & Development team.\nContinuous improvement of learning processes, programs, and employee learning experiences\nQualifications & Experience:\nBachelor's degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.\n5+ years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, Training, Workforce Development, or a related discipline.\nDemonstrated experience leading learning and development programs within a construction, industrial, skilled trades, utility, or similarly field-intensive environment required.\nExperience designing, implementing, and managing training programs that support field personnel, supervisors, project teams, craft professionals, or operational leaders.\nExperience partnering with subject matter experts to translate technical processes, procedures, and operational knowledge into structured learning programs.\nExperience leading or supervising training personnel, instructors, coordinators, instructional designers, or learning professionals.\nExperience managing or overseeing Learning Management Systems and learning technologies, including governance, content organization, and learning program administration.\nStrong project management, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.\nDemonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with both field and office personnel.\nKnowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design fundamentals, and training program evaluation methods.\nExperience supporting safety, quality, onboarding, technical skills, leadership, or compliance training programs.\nExperience with enterprise Learning Management Systems preferred.\n\nWorking Conditions & Flexibility:\nPosition based in the Carrollton, GA office.\nRegular interaction with office personnel, field employees, leaders, and external vendors.\nOccasional travel to jobsites, offices, and training locations to support program development and delivery.\nAbility to facilitate classroom, virtual, and hands-on learning experiences.\nAbility to lift training
