This is a hands-on role in a busy manufacturing environment, focused on maintaining and improving the reliability of our printing presses, production machinery and associated equipment.\n\nYou will work across electrical, electronic, control and electro-mechanical systems, helping minimise downtime and keep our operation running safely and efficiently. You will join an experienced team of tradespeople where practical problem-solving, teamwork and continuous improvement are valued. Candidates with a dual electrical/mechanical background or Millwright qualification are particularly encouraged to apply.\n\nWorking hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Working hours are scheduled between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. Occasional call-outs may be required.\n\nYour duties\nDiagnose and repair electrical, electronic and electro-mechanical faults on printing presses and production equipment.\nCarry out planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and equipment reliability improvements.\nTroubleshoot PLCs, variable-speed drives (VSDs), servo systems, motors, sensors, machine controls and safety circuits.\nRead and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings and equipment manuals\nInstall, commission, modify and upgrade machinery, electrical systems and control equipment\nWork closely with production operators and the wider maintenance team to resolve issues quickly\nIdentify recurring faults, investigate root causes and recommend practical improvements\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, parts usage and time reporting\nMonitor critical electrical and electronic spare parts and arrange replenishment\nFollow all health, safety and isolation procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)\n\nAbout You\nNZ EWRB Registered Electrician with current practising licence (essential)\nTrade-qualified Electrician or Millwright (dual-trade highly valued)\nProven experience in electrical maintenance, fault-finding and repair in an industrial environment\nStrong diagnostic skills with industrial machinery and electrical control systems\nAbility to interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation\nPractical, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team\nStrong commitment to health and safety and quality workmanship\n\nExperience that will set you apart\nIndustrial electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing, FMCG, packaging or printing.\nHands-on experience with PLC fault-finding, automation, servo drives, VSDs, motors, sensors and machine safety systems.\nExperience with preventative maintenance programmes and root-cause problem-solving.\nFamiliarity with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).\nExperience installing, modifying or commissioning industrial machinery and control systems.\n\nYou don’t need to be an expert in every system.
