The Press Assistant role is responsible for the set up and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations. \n\nWhy work at MCC: \nCompetitive Pay\nShift Hours: 3rd Shift: 10PM-6AM Sun - Thur\nGenerous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance and 401(k)\nPaid Holidays: New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, plus two floating Holidays\nResponsibilities: \nComply with all company and safety policies and procedures\nAttains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changes\nAssists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)\nAssists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeover\nCleans ink pans and ancillary equipment\nStrips plates from cylinders\nLocates dies to and from press\nMay be required to work with press operator to view labels with assistance of strobe light\nComply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCC\nMay be required to complete quality assurance sheet and associated documentation\nResponsible for cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspace\nResponsible for working overtime when needed and as assigned\nRelated duties as assigned\nQualifications: \nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience\nPrint shop experience helpful, but not required\nAbility to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form); seen as a team player\nAbility to read and understand a job ticket\nAbility to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)\nAbility correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)\nAbility to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)\nAbility to input data in the computer\nAbility to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities\nSelf-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions\nAbility to stand and move around press area for long periods of time\nAbility to lift up to 40 lbs.\nAssertive and solution-focused\nAbility to prioritize, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment\n\nThe physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
