The Role

We're looking for a Tech Lead Manager to lead a small team that owns a developer-facing platform, along with the tools and processes that support the developers who build on it. The team builds the APIs, SDKs, and integration surfaces that let third-party developers and partners create tools and experiences that help our creators meaningfully engage with their audience, as well as the app directory where those tools are discovered and made available.

In this role, you'll combine hands-on technical leadership with people management, setting technical direction for a platform whose primary users are other developers. You'll partner closely with Product and cross-functional stakeholders, bringing your own product thinking to deliver functionality that's meaningful to other engineers, for the platform and its integrations, make architectural decisions across the services that power it, and represent engineering in conversations with the external developers and partners who build on it.

This role is ideal for someone who has previously built or led a platform, API, or set of developer tools used by other engineers or third parties, and who enjoys balancing hands-on engineering with team leadership, stakeholder alignment, and product judgment.

You Will

• Lead and develop a small team of engineers who build and operate the APIs, integrations, and tools that power our third-party developer platform.
• Lead the development and evolution of our developer SDK and the tools that support it.
• Own the app directory that surfaces third-party apps to creators, from listing and discovery to how new apps get reviewed and published.
• Make architecture and technical decisions across multiple services, balancing developer experience, reliability, and scalability for the external developers and partners who build on the platform.
• Create clarity in ambiguous problem spaces by connecting technical constraints, partner needs, and business priorities.
• Coach and mentor engineers on technical decision-making, execution, and career growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Experience leading engineering teams as a people manager, technical lead, or Tech Lead Manager.
• Experience building or leading a platform, API, or set of developer tools used by other engineers or third-party developers.
• Strong software engineering background with experience working across full-stack systems, with a backend-heavy focus.
• Strong backend experience in languages such as Go or Python.
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with Product, Design, and other cross-functional partners to drive technical direction, roadmap planning, and execution across complex, user-facing platform systems.
• Ability to define technical direction in ambiguous spaces and break broad goals into actionable plans for a team.
• A track record of mentoring engineers and helping teams raise the bar technically and operationally.

The Base Salary range for this position is $180,000 - $220,000 USD. This range reflects base salary only and does not include additional compensation or benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum range for a new hire across the US for the posted position. A candidate’s specific pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the candidate’s job-related skills, relevant education, training, experience, certifications, and abilities of the candidate, as well as other factors unique to each candidate.
