This is a first line supervisor that is responsible for the overall administrative and technical management of section operations. This position supervises Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Processors, or other laboratory personnel. Work situations are varied and require strong leadership skills, organization, prioritization, accuracy, discretion, good judgment, and independent decision-making. Major decisions are subject to the review and approval of the Manager. External contacts include physicians, pathologists, physician office staff, and patients. Internal contacts are primarily with the clinical units and other hospital based staff.CLIA Personnel Qualification Documentation (per CMS-3326-F): This position is subject to Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) personnel qualification requirements. As part of the onboarding process, candidates may be required to provide third-party documentation from current or previous employers verifying applicable laboratory training, experience, job responsibilities, and/or supervisory experience.
