Co-located with Multimatic’s prototype manufacturing and Motorsports team enables industry leading rapid development cycles through strong collaboration.\nPosition Overview\nMultimatic’s Structures & Suspension Design Department is looking for talented Design Engineers to help develop automotive structures and suspension products for the world’s leading OEMs. Our team works across control arms, suspension links, ball joints, body structures, bumper systems, instrument panel structures, and ACCRA hot-formed tubular structures. In this role, you’ll take components from concept through to production, helping ensure they meet performance, cost, quality, and manufacturability targets.\nKey Responsibilities\nGenerate innovative design concepts for automotive structures and suspension products to satisfy OEM customer requirements.\n\nCreate and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings with GD&T, and technical documentation.\n\nCollaborate with program management, process, and quality teams at Multimatic’s manufacturing divisions to support DFM, DFA, and VA/VE activities.\n\nSupport validation activities including CAE, testing, and design reviews.\n\nSupport department R&D and innovation activities related to automotive structures and suspension systems.\n\nAnalyze test results and support root-cause investigations to drive design improvements.\n\nParticipate in prototype builds, product launches, and manufacturing support activities.\n\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.\n\nCommunicate directly with customers to understand technical requirements, provide design solutions, and program updates.\n\nAdhere to company safety, quality, and environmental standards.\n\nQualifications & Skills\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.\n\nMinimum 3 years of proven experience in automotive component design, including relevant co-op, internship, or full-time industry experience.\n\nProficient in CAD software (CATIA or NX preferred) for 3D modelling and GD&T drafting.\n\nStrong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and design for high-volume manufacture and assembly.\n\nUnderstanding of DFMEA, DVP&R, structured root cause analysis methods.\n\nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n\nStrong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.\n\nA genuine passion for mechanical design and the automotive industry, demonstrated through personal projects, Formula SAE participation, or hands-on experiences with vehicles.\n\nMultimatic offers a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative engineering environment where innovation and technical excellence are valued.\nThis is an on-site position at the Markham location.\nThis job posting is for an existing vacancy.
