Usage of photos is restricted to internal use only and/ or sending externally as part of job-related correspondence.\nEnsure the accuracy of manufacturing bills of materials for all products (i.e. parent component relationship, part numbers, and quantity per, at 98% accuracy level).\nEnsure the accuracy of work centre master files, routers, and standard run, and set up times, sub-contracted operations, and reporting points for back flushing for all products, at 98% accuracy level.\nCo-ordinate the proper timing of ECN's to minimize obsolete stock and ensure production at the required engineering level.\nEnsure accuracy of the part numbering system.\nDevelop and co-ordinate plant and equipment layout improvements, process improvements, die changes, and first off improvements.\nAssist in developing and maintaining standard costs for all products.\nCo-ordinate and follow up on the smooth introduction of new products to the company and assist in selecting appropriate suppliers for subcontracted operations.\nResearch and pursue opportunities for improvement in the operation to increase organization competitiveness.\nParticipate in the engineering change process by designing and updating Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses as needed.\nReview all operator instructions and ensure the readiness of assembly equipment, packaging requirements, and completion of all manufacturing engineering tasks. \nMaintain a daily presence on the production floor. Provide engineering support to assembly in the areas of ergonomic evaluations, methods improvement, the procurement and fabrication of equipment, and safety.\nResearch, investigate, and report manufacturing concerns for improvement of overall plant productivity. This includes process cost reductions and implementation of corrective actions to minimize process downtimes and rejects.\nAdvise Management of any potential problems and opportunities for improvement.\nComplete additional projects as assigned.\nFollow all departmental and general procedures where applicable.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and/or Department Manager.\nAbide by all company safety rules, responsibilities, policies, and procedures including the legislative requirements of the OHSA.\nWork in compliance and conform to the Environment and ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.\nAdopt and practice Kaizen principles; participate in Kaizen and GEAR activities.\nBasic Requirements:\nCompletion of a college diploma or university degree in an engineering discipline. Mechanical engineering is preferred.\nMinimum of five years’ experience in a related field or discipline.\nGood knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems.\nGood Technical Report writing abilities.\nProficient in Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and C.A.D.\nExcellent problem solving techniques and methods.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nThis job posting is for an existing vacancy.
